- • Lead a high-performing team of engineers building Redis Flex, a strategic product that extends Redis beyond memory by integrating RAM and Flash for massive dataset support without performance loss
- • Own the technical direction of the hybrid storage engine, defining architecture, setting roadmap priorities, and making critical system design decisions that impact enterprise customers worldwide
- • Stay hands-on in development while managing a team working across Redis Core and the Speedb flash storage layer, contributing directly to code, reviews, and system optimizations
- • Design and implement efficient data management systems that seamlessly handle data placement, eviction policies, persistence, and consistency across memory and flash storage tiers
- • Solve deep system-level challenges related to latency, throughput, durability, and cost trade-offs in high-performance, data-intensive environments
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with Core Engineering, Cloud, Performance, and Customer-facing teams to deliver scalable, production-grade solutions with rigorous quality standards
- • Mentor engineers, foster technical excellence, and drive end-to-end execution from concept through deployment and monitoring in production
- • Ensure systems are optimized for performance, scalability, and operational reliability under high-throughput workloads typical of Redis’s global customer base
- • Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and patterns in storage systems to maintain Redis’s leadership in speed and simplicity
- • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineers, product stakeholders, and cross-functional partners to align on goals and priorities
- • Promote a culture of ownership, innovation, and accountability within the team, encouraging experimentation while maintaining production stability
- • Conduct performance reviews, set individual growth goals, and support career development for team members through feedback, coaching, and stretch assignments
- • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies to build and sustain a world-class engineering team
- • Ensure all deliverables meet enterprise-grade reliability, security, and compliance standards required by Redis’s global customer base
- • Remain deeply involved in technical deep dives, architecture reviews, and incident response to maintain system integrity and team credibility
- • Balance strategic planning with tactical execution, ensuring long-term architectural vision is realized through disciplined, iterative delivery
- • Act as a technical liaison between development teams and other departments to translate customer needs into technical requirements and prioritize feature development
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of experience building production-grade systems with strong hands-on development in C/C++ on Linux
- • 4+ years of experience leading teams or driving large-scale projects end-to-end
- • Strong systems programming background in memory management, concurrency, and performance optimization
- • Experience with storage systems, databases, or data-intensive applications
- • Ability to think holistically about system trade-offs: latency, throughput, durability, and cost
- • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
