📋 Description

• As a Full Stack Engineer at Deel, you will play a critical role in building and scaling the infrastructure that powers global payroll, HR, and compliance solutions for businesses operating in over 150 countries. Your work directly enables companies to hire, pay, and manage talent across borders seamlessly, supporting Deel’s mission to unlock global opportunity for every worker, team, and organization.
• You will be a key contributor to a high-impact, cross-functional engineering team responsible for delivering reliable, secure, and user-centric features that serve millions of users worldwide, helping Deel maintain its position as the fastest-growing SaaS company in history with over $1B in ARR and a $17.3B valuation.
• Day to day, you will develop high-quality, responsive web applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Express, focusing on creating intuitive user interfaces and robust backend systems that power Deel’s all-in-one platform.
• You will design and implement server-side APIs, data models, and business logic primarily using Express, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability while integrating with PostgreSQL databases.
• You will create client-side function-based React components, hooks, stories, and unit/integration tests to ensure seamless interaction between frontend and backend systems, following best practices in component reusability and modularity.
• You will build and optimize database schemas and queries in PostgreSQL, ensuring data integrity and efficient access patterns for high-volume, global workloads.
• You will perform thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting using frameworks like Jest, Mocha, Chai, Storybook, and React Testing Library, and contribute to automated testing strategies including Cypress for end-to-end validation.
• You will actively participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and uphold engineering standards to maintain code quality across the team.
• You will collaborate closely with product, design, QA, and other engineering teams throughout the full software development lifecycle—from discovery and planning to deployment and monitoring—ensuring alignment on customer needs and technical excellence.
• You will communicate progress, challenges, and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering transparency and shared ownership of outcomes.
• You will stay current with emerging web development trends, tools, and methodologies, and proactively recommend improvements to enhance development velocity, system reliability, and team productivity.
• You will contribute to a remote-first, inclusive engineering culture that values autonomy, collaboration, and continuous learning, working alongside teammates from over 100 countries who speak 74 languages and bring diverse perspectives to problem-solving.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in full-stack SaaS development, gain experience with cloud-native architectures (including Docker and Kubernetes), and strengthen your ability to deliver business-driven technical solutions that impact millions of global workers.

🎯 Requirements

• At least 4 years of professional full-stack engineering experience with a strong focus on TypeScript and JavaScript development.
• Expert proficiency in building and maintaining web applications using React, Express, and related modern frontend/backend technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and optimize database schemas and queries using PostgreSQL.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Chai, Storybook, or React Testing Library, and familiarity with automated testing methodologies.
• Strong collaboration skills and comfort thriving in a remote-first, asynchronous work environment with global teams.
• Passion for solving customer problems through technology and a commitment to delivering high-quality, user-focused outcomes.
