- • Software Engineer - Platform Productivity role at Grafana Labs, focused on building and maintaining internal engineering tools that enable application engineers to build, deploy, and run workloads on Kubernetes clusters.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and maintaining the Internal Engineering Platform (IEP), managing CI/CD platforms, automating build/release/deployment processes, creating application configuration management tooling, implementing 'up to date' software automation, handling artefact management, collaborating with internal teams (application development, security, support), and participating in on-call rotations for Platform tooling.
- • Grafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source company with over 20M global users of Grafana visualization tools, serving 3,000+ companies including Bloomberg, JPMorgan Chase, and eBay with observability solutions via the Grafana LGTM Stack (Mimir, Loki, Tempo). - • The role offers opportunities to learn and grow through exposure to modern AI coding assistants (with company-funded budget), frontier models (GPT-Codex 5/3, Claude Opus 4.6, Gemini 3 Pro), end-to-end ownership of code lifecycle, and involvement in shaping team roadmaps and sunsetting legacy systems.
🎯 Requirements
- • Experience operating code in production environments with grounding in both developer and operator perspectives
- • Proficiency with Kubernetes and Docker, including Infrastructure as Code practices
- • Flexibility to work with multiple tools and languages (primary language is Go, but willingness to use best tool for job, including shell scripts)
- • Experience with CI/CD platform management and development
- • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Crossplane
- • Interest or experience in implementing, integrating, and maintaining observability systems and processes
