- • Serve as the primary technical field contact for internal applications support teams and act as a subject matter expert in NIPT and bioinformatics across Australia and New Zealand.
- • Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting for complex technical issues related to user skills, biochemistry/assay design, experimental design, software, and Illumina sequencing instruments.
- • Interpret customer needs and determine the appropriate internal team (product management, engineering, or support) responsible for resolving technical problems.
- • Liaise with internal teams including Product, Field, and Technical Support to coordinate resolution of complex NIPT and bioinformatics issues in the ANZ and APJ regions.
- • Act as the first point of contact for resolving high-complexity applications issues both remotely and on-site across Australia and New Zealand.
- • Collaborate with Regional and Global Product Support teams to ensure timely communication of current technical issues and advice to field teams.
- • Coordinate global educational initiatives with NIPT and Bioinformatics support teams to enhance customer and internal team knowledge.
- • Execute customer installations including facility inspections, instrument validation, and hands-on customer training on Illumina high-throughput sequencing and array systems.
- • Support sales efforts through technical presentations, demonstrations, and direct customer management to drive adoption and satisfaction.
- • Act as a key conduit for customer feedback to marketing and product development teams to influence future product improvements.
- • Contribute to the development and refinement of company processes aimed at building a world-class customer support organization.
- • Mentor and coach internal support team members in NIPT applications, bioinformatics, and sequencing technology best practices.
- • Maintain strong, positive relationships with customers through consistent, high-quality technical engagement and service.
- • Travel up to 50% to support customers across Australia and New Zealand for on-site installations, trainings, and troubleshooting.
- • Provide basic applications support including system installation, validation, and customer training for Illumina sequencing platforms as needed.
- • Interpret sequencing data analysis software outputs and apply this knowledge to resolve customer-specific analytical challenges.
- • Demonstrate superior problem-solving, interpersonal, and account management skills in a commercial biotechnology environment.
- • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly through high-level written and verbal communication to diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
- • Maintain a clear commitment to delivering outstanding customer service aligned with Illumina’s mission of health equity and genomic access.
🎯 Requirements
- • Prior field experience supporting customers using sequencing technologies
- • Demonstrated understanding of sequencing data analysis software applications
- • Demonstrated experience with next generation sample preparation technologies and protocols
- • Experience in next-generation sequencing applications
- • Demonstrated experience with instrumentation such as liquid handling robotics and optical scanners
- • Must be willing to travel up to 50%
