  • • Manage a small number of key manufacturing accounts, developing and executing comprehensive account strategies to drive adoption of OpenAI’s AI products.
  • • Build trusted executive relationships with senior leaders across technology, operations, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and procurement functions within large manufacturing organizations.
  • • Lead enterprise prospects through the full sales cycle—from initial consideration and use-case identification to successful deployment and expansion of AI solutions.
  • • Help manufacturing customers identify and prioritize high-value AI applications in areas including engineering and product development, factory and operational efficiency, supply chain optimization, quality management, predictive maintenance, workforce enablement, customer support, and enterprise knowledge management.
  • • Partner with solutions engineers, researchers, and product teams to design and execute complex customer programs that integrate OpenAI’s technology into existing operational environments.
  • • Navigate complex enterprise ecosystems involving legacy systems, operational technology, data governance policies, security requirements, and global stakeholder structures.
  • • Own and achieve annual consumption revenue targets exceeding $2M, with consistent performance over multiple years.
  • • Manage and forecast consumption revenue with accuracy, providing insights to internal stakeholders and aligning with finance and business operations teams.
  • • Analyze key account metrics to generate reports and deliver strategic insights to both internal teams and external customers.
  • • Monitor the manufacturing industry landscape—including competitors, emerging AI use cases, technological trends, and customer transformation priorities—to inform product roadmap contributions and corporate strategy.
  • • Collaborate cross-functionally with solutions, marketing, communications, business operations, people operations, finance, product management, and engineering teams to align on customer outcomes and organizational goals.
  • • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and development of new team members to scale the manufacturing sales function.
  • • Contribute to the development and reinforcement of OpenAI’s company culture through active participation and leadership.
  • • Work in a hybrid model requiring three days per week in the office at one of OpenAI’s locations: San Francisco, Seattle, or New York.
  • • Engage with global manufacturing clients operating across multiple business units, facilities, and geographies, requiring coordination across time zones and regulatory environments.
  • • Translate technical capabilities of AI models into measurable business outcomes such as increased productivity, operational efficiency, quality improvement, innovation velocity, and revenue growth.
  • • Maintain deep awareness of manufacturing-specific challenges including automation integration, compliance, supply chain resilience, and workforce upskilling needs.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 14+ years selling platform-as-a-service and/or software-as-a-service solutions
  • • Significant experience selling complex enterprise technology solutions to large manufacturing organizations
  • • Strong understanding of the manufacturing industry, including business models, operational environments, technology ecosystems, and transformation priorities
  • • Experience developing executive relationships across technology, engineering, operations, supply chain, manufacturing, and procurement functions
  • • Experience navigating complex, global accounts with multiple business units, facilities, stakeholders, and decision-makers
  • • Achieved revenue targets greater than $2M per year for more than 3 years
