- • Own and close net-new business end-to-end, including prospecting into target accounts and managing inbound leads to build and sustain pipeline
- • Run tailored product evaluations and demos that directly connect Clay’s capabilities to a prospect’s specific workflows, pain points, and go-to-market motion
- • Lead consultative discovery conversations that help prospects uncover new possibilities for growth using Clay’s AI-powered platform
- • Build compelling business cases to secure budget approval and identify internal champions within target organizations
- • Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, services, and customer success teams to shape solutions, stay current on product capabilities, and improve sales effectiveness
- • Contribute to the development and refinement of Clay’s sales playbook, processes, and cultural norms as the team scales
- • Use AI tools creatively to enhance personal workflows and demonstrate innovative applications to customers
- • Sell to revenue teams at high-growth tech companies, including prospects from organizations like Anthropic, Notion, Google, and Ramp
- • Operate in a high-velocity but consultative sales motion, treating each deal as a unique opportunity to co-create value rather than follow a scripted pitch
- • Adapt continuously as the role evolves—no two months will look the same, and the role is designed to grow alongside the company’s product and market
- • Bring a product mindset to sales, treating go-to-market as a system to be iterated on, not a static process
- • Engage with prospects who treat their GTM motion like a product—constantly shipping new plays, automating manual tasks, and challenging assumptions
- • Help redefine what great selling looks like in a post-AI world by combining creativity, technical understanding, and strategic insight
- • Collaborate with a team that includes former founders, engineers, educators, and product managers, valuing non-traditional backgrounds and diverse perspectives
- • Participate in a culture that emphasizes creativity, non-attached action, and negative maintenance as core operating principles
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years in a closing role (AE, senior AE, or sales leader) with a track record of carrying and exceeding quota
- • Proven ability to build pipeline, not just manage it
- • Experience closing new-logo deals in the $50K-$100K range with multiple stakeholders in a consultative, solutions-oriented selling motion
- • High business IQ: ability to quickly understand a prospect’s go-to-market motion and identify where Clay creates value
- • Experience with a formal sales methodology (any preferred)
- • Creative and resourceful, with demonstrated ability to use AI tools innovatively in sales or customer workflows
