  • Cambly is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Account Executive to spearhead our Business-to-Business (B2B) expansion within the Japanese market. As a remote-based professional operating from Tokyo, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our innovative online English learning platform by forging strategic partnerships with HR and Learning & Development (L&D) leaders in Japanese corporations.
  • This is a unique opportunity to leverage Cambly's position as a leading global English learning platform, backed by top-tier investors like Bessemer and Benchmark, to empower thousands of learners worldwide and equip hundreds of renowned companies with the tools to foster globally competitive talent.
  • As an Account Executive, you will embody a multifaceted role, combining the skills of a hunter, a consultant, and a strategist. You will be entrusted with the entire lifecycle of sales activities within your designated market, from initial target identification to closing deals and fostering long-term client relationships.
  • Your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute a sophisticated target account strategy. This involves meticulously identifying and prioritizing key enterprises within your assigned market and territory that represent significant growth potential for Cambly. You will then craft and implement targeted outreach strategies to engage these high-value accounts effectively.
  • Building and managing a robust sales pipeline will be crucial. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire sales funnel, from responding promptly and effectively to inbound leads generated by our marketing efforts to proactively initiating outbound sales campaigns to create new business opportunities. Your ultimate goal will be to consistently meet and exceed ambitious sales targets.
  • A core component of this role is consultative selling. You will engage in deep discovery calls to thoroughly understand prospective clients' unique challenges, pain points, and objectives related to English language proficiency. Leveraging this understanding, you will present Cambly's solutions as value-driven propositions, demonstrating how our platform can address their specific needs and deliver tangible business outcomes.
  • Cultivating strong, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within target organizations will be paramount. This involves not only understanding their business needs but also aligning Cambly's offerings with their strategic goals, leading to increased revenue through new contract acquisitions and successful upsells.
  • Networking will be an integral part of your strategy. You will actively build and nurture professional relationships through in-person meetings, industry events, and conferences. Strengthening your network with executives and senior leaders will provide valuable insights and open doors to new opportunities.
  • While the role is primarily remote, there may be occasional travel requirements, estimated at up to 5%, to attend meetings, conferences, or client events, ensuring you can be present where it matters most.
  • A significant aspect of your role will involve forging partnerships directly with executives, including C-level leadership. You will engage in direct communication to understand their organizational vision and drive large-scale initiatives, such as company-wide training program implementations.
  • Close collaboration with the Marketing team is essential. You will work hand-in-hand to align sales and marketing efforts, contributing to lead generation strategies and ensuring a seamless flow of qualified opportunities into the sales pipeline.
