📋 Description

• WeTravel, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Accountant to join their growing finance team in Amsterdam, playing a critical role in building a world-class finance function that ensures accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight to support global decision-making as the company scales.
• This role offers the opportunity to own end-to-end accounting processes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where autonomy, ownership, and a solution-first mindset are valued, with direct exposure to management and cross-functional teams.
• The Finance team at WeTravel operates with high visibility and cross-functional collaboration, guided by core values of respect, honesty, resourcefulness, and being the solution, providing a supportive yet challenging environment for professional growth.
• In this role, you will develop deep expertise in global accounting operations, gain hands-on experience with NetSuite and Ramp, strengthen your analytical and presentation skills, and contribute to audit readiness and financial integrity across a high-volume, low-dollar transaction business.
• You will own the full accounts payable process, including posting invoices, matching bank and cash movements, managing the accounting email inbox, and presenting weekly AP and Cash Talk sessions to the Finance team, gaining visibility into cash flow decisions and management discussions.
• You will independently perform weekly bank reconciliations, manage employee expenses via Ramp, and review spending from third-party Travel & Expense platforms to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and compliance.
• You will own mid-level month-end close tasks such as accruals, fixed assets, payroll liabilities, intangible assets, and VAT returns, ensuring accurate classification and GL coding while investigating cash reconciling items in a high-volume transaction environment.
• You will support the team with ad-hoc reconciliations, special projects, and assist during annual and quarterly financial audits, reviews, and compilations, building experience in audit preparation and financial reporting.
• The role follows a hybrid schedule requiring three days in the office (Monday, Thursday, Friday), with an initial fully in-office onboarding period to ensure smooth integration into the team and company culture.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar mid-level role
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• High proficiency in NetSuite, Ramp, Excel, and Google Suite
• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Solid understanding of financial accounting principles; knowledge of US GAAP is a bonus
• Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn with a team-oriented mindset
• Comfortable presenting financial data to the team weekly and communicating clearly and effectively
