• As a remote-first organization with key office hubs in Santa Monica, CA (HQ); Nairobi, Kenya; Mexico City, Mexico; Manila, the Philippines; and Bangalore, India, we foster a collaborative and flexible work environment. This role will be based in our India hub, operating on a hybrid model.
• In this critical six-month contract role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records for the Indian operations. Your responsibilities will encompass a broad range of accounting functions, contributing directly to the smooth financial functioning of our India entity.
• Key responsibilities will include maintaining the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded, classified, and summarized in accordance with relevant accounting principles and company policies.
• You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis to support management decision-making.
• This role involves managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and customers.
• You will also play a part in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all deadlines are met and financial data is reconciled.
• Reconciliation of bank statements and other balance sheet accounts will be a core duty, identifying and resolving any discrepancies promptly.
• Assisting with the preparation of tax filings and ensuring compliance with local tax regulations in India will be a significant aspect of the role.
• You will collaborate with internal teams, including finance, operations, and legal, to gather information, resolve accounting issues, and support financial reporting requirements.
• The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Indian accounting standards and practices, coupled with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Accountant, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly within the Indian regulatory framework.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
