📋 Description

• As an Accountant at Sierra Studio, LLC, you will play a pivotal role in supporting senior living operators by ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and operational integrity across multiple entities, directly enabling clients to focus on delivering exceptional care to residents while the back-office runs smoothly and compliantly.
• You will oversee a team of staff accountants and accounts payable coordinators, driving process improvements, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and serving as a trusted financial partner to a portfolio of senior living communities, where your leadership and precision will directly impact financial health and operational scalability.
• Day to day, you will prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, ensuring all disclosures are accurate and audit-ready.
• You will perform rigorous account reconciliations across general ledger, bank, and intercompany accounts, investigating discrepancies and maintaining pristine financial records for all entities under management.
• You will assist in developing annual budgets and rolling forecasts, tracking variances against actuals, and providing actionable insights to stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
• You will lead, mentor, and supervise junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration while delegating tasks effectively and conducting performance feedback.
• You will identify inefficiencies in current financial workflows and implement process improvements—such as automation, standardization, or checklist enhancements—to increase accuracy, reduce cycle time, and strengthen internal controls.
• You will serve as the primary point of contact for senior living operator clients, responding promptly and professionally to accounting inquiries, explaining financial results, and building trust through consistent, high-touch service.
• You will ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and evolving industry regulations (including those specific to senior living and healthcare finance), staying current through ongoing training and regulatory monitoring.
• You will manage financial operations for multiple legal entities and bank accounts, including intercompany eliminations, consolidated reporting, and entity-specific close processes.
• You will own the end-to-end financial deliverables for a portfolio of communities, including preparation and review of income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and accounts payable aging reports, ensuring completeness and timeliness.

• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in multi-entity accounting, US GAAP, and senior living-specific financial practices while developing leadership and client management skills that prepare you for senior finance or controllership roles.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in senior living accounting preferred
• CRC (Conselho Regional de Contabilidade) certification
• Proficiency in accounting software (ideally Sage Intacct) and advanced Excel skills
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
• High integrity, dependability, and results-oriented mindset
• Experience with multi-entity accounting and client portfolio management
• US company experience is a plus
