📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end accuracy of the general ledger for an $8+ billion health system encompassing 18 hospitals, physician practices, home care, hospice, behavioral health, and senior living entities. You will prepare, maintain, and reconcile complex ledger accounts and financial statements that directly influence executive-level decisions and community health outcomes.
• • Lead the preparation, recording, analysis, and reporting of capital-expenditure schedules for multi-million-dollar projects—new hospital wings, cutting-edge imaging suites, and community clinics—ensuring every dollar is tracked, compliant, and optimized for patient impact.
• • Drive forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis cycles that shape annual operating plans exceeding $3 billion. Translate financial data into actionable insights for clinical and operational leaders so they can expand access, improve quality, and reduce cost.
• • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits. You will prepare detailed audit schedules, respond to PBC requests within tight deadlines, and present fluctuation analyses that demonstrate the integrity of Saint Luke’s financial reporting.
• • Take ownership of higher-risk, judgmental, and complex accounting areas—business combinations, lease accounting, joint-venture consolidations, and grant compliance—where technical precision and ethical stewardship are paramount.
• • Spearhead special projects such as system-wide ERP enhancements, revenue-cycle optimization, and new accounting-standard implementations (e.g., ASC 842, ASC 606). Your work will modernize processes and free clinicians to focus on patient care.
• • Provide real-time financial support to hospital CFOs, service-line directors, and mission leaders. Whether modeling the ROI of a robotic-surgery program or analyzing the cost of charity care, your insights will directly advance Saint Luke’s faith-based, nonprofit mission.
• • Champion continuous improvement by documenting accounting policies, automating reconciliations, and mentoring junior staff. You will help build a culture where accuracy, compassion, and innovation coexist.
