- • Lead and own end-to-end accounting processes including month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliation for a rapidly growing DeFi company managing over $2B in vault TVL.
- • Ensure accurate and timely recording of revenue and expenses in accordance with GAAP and company policies, with direct oversight of all general ledger activities.
- • Collaborate closely with the Onchain Accounting Lead to support digital asset accounting, crypto-native transactions, and on-chain financial reporting for protocols including Morpho, Drift, Symbiotic, and Aera.
- • Maintain audit readiness by documenting controls, preparing supporting schedules, and coordinating with external auditors for annual and quarterly audits.
- • Design and implement scalable accounting controls and workflows to support organizational growth, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy across finance operations.
- • Review and approve work prepared by junior accounting team members, providing day-to-day guidance, feedback, and mentorship to build a high-performing accounting function.
- • Partner with cross-functional teams including Finance, Engineering, and Operations to ensure accurate financial treatment of complex DeFi transactions, incentive programs, and yield strategies.
- • Stay current on evolving accounting standards related to digital assets, crypto derivatives, and decentralized finance to ensure compliance and proper financial reporting.
- • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures tailored to the unique nature of onchain assets, smart contract interactions, and token-based revenue streams.
- • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives by providing accurate, timely data and insights to senior leadership.
- • Serve as a key liaison between internal teams and external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure transparency and compliance across all financial reporting.
- • Identify inefficiencies in current accounting systems and processes, and lead initiatives to automate or improve workflows using financial software and tools.
- • Maintain accurate records of all digital asset holdings, including token types, custody arrangements, valuation methodologies, and realized/unrealized gains/losses.
- • Ensure all financial documentation is properly archived and accessible for internal review and external audit requirements.
- • Contribute to the development of financial dashboards and reporting tools that provide visibility into vault performance, risk exposure, and economic safety metrics.

🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- • CPA license or equivalent professional accounting designation required
- • Demonstrated expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes
- • Experience with digital assets, cryptocurrency accounting, or DeFi financial systems
- • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, Oracle) and ERP systems
- • Strong understanding of audit preparation and internal control frameworks
