📋 Description

  • • Vetcove is at the forefront of modernizing the veterinary software industry and enhancing the pet parent healthcare experience. We offer a comprehensive suite of platforms, including a leading procurement marketplace, an advanced e-commerce solution for home delivery, and a next-generation practice management system. Our solutions are trusted by over 25,000 veterinary hospitals across the United States, supporting tens of thousands of veterinarians who provide care for millions of pets annually. We are backed by prominent investors such as Y Combinator and leading venture capital firms, positioning us as a rapidly growing, mission-driven company dedicated to transforming the over $50 billion animal health industry.
  • • As an Accounting Manager at Vetcove, you will be instrumental in supporting the day-to-day accounting, treasury, and finance operations. This is a hands-on role for a detail-oriented professional eager to contribute to core accounting functions and engage in ad hoc finance projects. You will thrive in an environment that values ownership, meticulous documentation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • • You will collaborate closely with Finance leadership, ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes, proactively identifying potential issues, and contributing to process improvements as the company continues its growth trajectory.
  • • Key responsibilities include playing a pivotal role in the development and execution of a timely and accurate monthly financial close process. This involves overseeing all aspects of the close, from data compilation to final reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • • You will provide essential support for treasury management, diligently monitoring cash balances and partnering with Finance leadership to identify and communicate potential risks and opportunities related to cash flow. This includes forecasting and managing liquidity to support business operations.
  • • The role entails preparing and supporting quarterly tax payments and filings, requiring close coordination with external tax advisors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • • You will be responsible for owning and preparing monthly bank reconciliations, as well as preparing and reviewing accrued expenses and their associated schedules, ensuring all liabilities are accurately recorded.
  • • Management of prepaid expenses is another critical function, encompassing their setup, amortization schedules, and regular reconciliation to ensure proper accounting treatment.
  • • A significant part of the role involves preparing month-over-month (MoM) flux/variance analysis, providing clear and concise explanations for any significant changes in financial performance.
  • • You will actively support month-end close activities, contributing to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the financial reporting process.
  • • Maintaining and updating comprehensive accounting documentation is crucial. This includes managing Notion pages, close checklists, and detailed process guides, ensuring that all documentation is current, accurate, and audit-ready.
  • • Ensuring the consistency and accuracy of all accounting documentation is paramount, making it readily available and compliant for potential audits.
  • • This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing company that is making a significant impact on the animal health industry. You will be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and a shared commitment to improving veterinary care and pet parent experiences. Your work will directly influence financial operations and support strategic decision-making.
