Accounting Manager

📋 Description

• • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, with a target close window of 5–7 business days.
• • Oversee and review all accounting team outputs to ensure accuracy, compliance with internal controls, and adherence to established close timelines; provide coaching, feedback, and prioritization to maintain consistent execution.
• • Manage full accounts payable lifecycle including vendor setup, invoice processing, payment runs, reconciliations, and year-end 1099 reporting; serve as primary escalation point for vendor and payment issues while ensuring complete documentation and compliance with approval policies.
• • Own corporate expense management processes, including administration of Ramp platform, processing employee reimbursements, reviewing corporate credit card transactions, enforcing policy compliance, and resolving employee submissions, receipts, and memos.
• • Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis to produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing actionable insights on KPIs and company financial health through variance analysis and performance metrics.
• • Develop, maintain, and update SOPs, playbooks, and internal documentation for all accounting and finance functions to ensure audit readiness, scalability, and process consistency across the organization.
• • Partner with internal teams and external auditors to prepare for and execute the company’s first audit, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards and all applicable tax regulations.
• • Lead accounting-related process improvement initiatives, including enhancements to payment workflows, expense platforms, reporting tools, and automation opportunities to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
• • Ensure all financial records and controls are maintained in an audit-ready state, with proper segregation of duties, documentation, and compliance safeguards to support internal and external audits.
• • Support cross-functional operational initiatives through financial analysis, KPI tracking, reporting, documentation, and special projects to enable data-driven decision-making across departments.
• • Provide accurate and timely payroll support in coordination with external providers and ensure all payroll-related accounting entries are properly recorded and reconciled.
• • Maintain vendor and employee financial records with high attention to detail, ensuring all documentation is complete, organized, and retrievable for audit or compliance purposes.
• • Act as the primary accounting liaison for external tax advisors, supporting preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings while ensuring regulatory compliance across all applicable jurisdictions.
• • Monitor and optimize accounting software workflows using QuickBooks Online (QBO), Rillet, Ramp, Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs), and CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot to streamline operations.
• • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by proactively identifying inefficiencies, recommending solutions, and driving implementation of process enhancements across accounting and finance functions.
