Accounting Manager

📋 Description

• • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for a high-growth SaaS company that processes 125 million orders per year and supports $35B in GMV. You will quarterback every aspect of the close—from reviewing workpapers and posting complex journal entries to consolidating 10+ foreign subsidiaries—so that leadership receives accurate, GAAP-compliant statements within five business days every month.
• • Lead, mentor, and scale a distributed accounting team (AP, AR, payroll, revenue) across multiple time zones. You will set individual KPIs, run weekly stand-ups, and create career-development plans that turn senior accountants into future controllers while ensuring daily operations never miss a beat.
• • Architect and maintain the general ledger in NetSuite (Advanced Revenue Module) so that every deferred revenue schedule, intercompany elimination, and FX revaluation is automated, auditable, and error-free. Your dashboards will give the CFO real-time visibility into cash, billings, and SaaS metrics like ARR, NRR, and CAC payback.
• • Drive continuous process improvement. You will map every workflow from purchase-to-pay to order-to-cash, identify control gaps, and then design or implement bolt-on tools (Tipalti, FloQast, Bill.com, etc.) that cut close time by 25 % within your first year.
• • Partner with FP&A, Sales Ops, and Legal on M&A due-diligence and post-close integration. You will build opening balance sheets, purchase-price allocations, and synergy models for tuck-in acquisitions, ensuring revenue recognition policies are harmonized on day one.
• • Be the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and state regulators. You will own the PBC list, coordinate global statutory filings, and defend technical positions on complex areas such as multi-element arrangements, ASC 842 leases, and 409A valuations.
• • Safeguard global payroll for 500+ employees in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and Philippines. You will oversee Workday integrations, equity payroll items, and multi-state compliance so every paycheck, bonus, and RSU settlement is accurate and on time.
• • Translate financial data into actionable insights for department heads. You will build self-service Power BI dashboards that show budget vs. actual by function, highlight SaaS spend leakage, and forecast runway under multiple ARR growth scenarios.
• • Champion a culture of compliance and ethical behavior. You will update the accounting policy manual, design SOX-ready control matrices, and run quarterly training sessions that keep the entire company audit-ready 365 days a year.
