- • The Accounting Manager at Citizen will lead core accounting operations and strengthen financial infrastructure to support the company’s next stage of growth, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include owning the month-end close process, managing revenue accounting for consumer and enterprise streams, preparing financial reports, leading audit readiness, and driving AI-enabled improvements in accounting workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- • Citizen is a mission-driven public safety technology company backed by top-tier venture capital, dedicated to making communities safer through real-time 911 alerts and emergency response tools, with a culture of innovation, impact, and cross-functional collaboration.
- • In this role, the individual will deepen expertise in GAAP, revenue recognition, and financial systems modernization, while developing leadership skills in cross-functional partnership, process improvement, and strategic financial storytelling that directly influences executive and board-level decisions.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required
- • Big 4 Public Accounting experience or experience in a public company environment subject to SOX
- • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
- • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP revenue recognition guidance and accrual accounting
- • Proficiency in Excel/spreadsheet modeling and experience with QuickBooks preferred
- • Experience in high-growth technology companies preferred
