Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the full customer lifecycle from pre-sale discovery through production deployment, acting as the authoritative accounting voice that ensures every AI agent we ship is audit-ready and operationally sound.
- • Lead deep-dive discovery sessions with Controllers, Accounting Managers, and Finance leaders at high-growth and enterprise companies to map every GL and sub-ledger workflow—journal entries, reconciliations, allocations, eliminations, flux analyses, and management reporting—so we know exactly where Maximor can automate, where configuration is needed, and what must stay manual.
- • Translate messy, real-world close processes into crisp, automatable logic by writing detailed accounting specifications that Engineering can turn into production-grade AI agents; you will be the bridge between “what NetSuite actually stores” and “what the AI must do to close the books faster.”
- • Configure Maximor’s AI-native sub-ledgers to respect each customer’s chart of accounts, multi-book structures, elimination rules, foreign-currency treatments, and period-end cut-off policies, ensuring the output reconciles back to the ERP with zero unexplained variances.
- • Build and maintain reusable discovery templates, data-requirements checklists, and implementation playbooks that allow Maximor to scale from 5 to 500 customers without reinventing the wheel every time.
- • Run controlled pilots with early design partners—loading trial balances, mapping ERP fields, validating automated reconciliations, and presenting results to external auditors—so customers experience a flawless first close before full rollout.
- • Surface recurring edge cases (e.g., contract modifications under ASC 606, complex equity structures, inter-company eliminations) to Product and Engineering, turning field observations into roadmap features that make the platform more robust for every future customer.
- • Collaborate with Account Executives during late-stage sales cycles to defend the technical accounting fit, scope implementation timelines, and finalize pricing based on the actual effort required to deliver an audit-ready solution.
- • Serve as the internal “voice of the Controller,” challenging Engineering assumptions, reviewing test results, and signing off on release notes to guarantee that every new feature meets real close standards.
- • Continuously refine our internal accounting knowledge base—documenting ERP quirks, audit firm preferences, and regulatory nuances—so Maximor remains the most credible AI solution in the finance stack.
- • Mentor junior accounting team members and cross-train Sales Engineers on core accounting concepts, raising the bar for technical excellence across the company.
- • Contribute to thought-leadership content (whitepapers, webinars, conference talks) that positions Maximor as the definitive authority on AI-driven accounting automation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7–10 years of hands-on GL accounting experience, including at least two years in a complex, multi-entity close environment (public accounting audit senior or industry Accounting Manager preferred).
- • Deep, current expertise in at least two major ERPs (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Oracle Fusion) including chart-of-accounts design, multi-book consolidations, and period-end close configurations.
- • Proven ability to design and defend accounting controls that satisfy Big-4 audit requirements—SOC 1, SOX 404, or equivalent.
- • Advanced Excel skills: comfortable manipulating 100k-row data sets, building reconciliation macros, and using pivot tables, Power Query, or array formulas to diagnose variances.
- • Demonstrated success working with close-management tools such as FloQast, BlackLine, or Trintech Cadency to orchestrate task ownership, evidence collection, and sign-offs.
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex accounting logic to both engineers and non-technical finance executives without losing accuracy.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Founding-team equity package with a 10-year exercise window, giving you meaningful ownership in a category-defining company.
- • Fully remote-first culture with quarterly in-person summits in top-tier cities (all travel and lodging covered).
- • Annual $3,000 professional-development stipend—use it for CPA CPE, ERP certifications, or AI/ML courses that expand your skill set.
- • Flexible PTO policy with a mandatory 15-day minimum plus company-wide shutdown between Christmas and New Year’s to ensure true recharge.
