  • • Kraken is at the forefront of the cryptocurrency revolution, building the future of digital finance and empowering individuals worldwide to achieve financial freedom. As a fully remote company with a global presence, we are a diverse team of passionate individuals united by a shared conviction in the potential of crypto and blockchain technology. We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Accounts Payable Analyst to join our dynamic accounting team, reporting directly to the Manager, Accounts Payable.
  • • In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of our vendor payment processes. Operating within a fast-paced, high-volume environment, you will leverage your expertise in Accounts Payable to quickly integrate into our operations, work autonomously, and take full ownership of resolving any payment-related issues from inception to completion. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining the financial integrity of Kraken as we continue our rapid growth.
  • • The ideal candidate possesses exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a collaborative spirit, enabling effective partnerships with vendors, procurement specialists, business owners, and various internal accounting teams. You will be a key player in developing and refining scalable Accounts Payable processes, providing essential support to our international accounting function.
  • • Your core responsibilities will include the meticulous processing of vendor invoices and payments on a weekly basis, guaranteeing both accuracy and adherence to strict deadlines. This involves a thorough review of each invoice to confirm proper documentation, correct account coding, and necessary approvals before payment authorization.
  • • A critical aspect of this role is performing two-way matching of invoices against corresponding purchase orders, ensuring that all transactions are validated and authorized. You will be adept at investigating and resolving any discrepancies that arise, proactively collaborating with vendors, procurement teams, and internal stakeholders to find swift and effective solutions.
  • • You will be responsible for accurately recording all vendor invoices, including those for contractors, and their associated payments within our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Maintaining up-to-date vendor records is also a key duty, encompassing the onboarding process, ensuring all necessary tax documentation is collected and filed, and managing wire/ACH payment templates.
  • • Furthermore, you will meticulously review expense reports, verifying their accuracy, completeness of supporting documentation, and correct expense classification. This includes reconciling expense report submissions and company credit card transactions against the general ledger, ensuring financial alignment.
  • • You will serve as a primary point of contact for both internal and external inquiries regarding vendor payments, invoice statuses, and account discrepancies, providing clear and timely communication. Your support will extend to crucial month-end close activities, including the preparation of AP accruals, performing reconciliations, and generating essential financial reports.
  • • In addition to your core AP duties, you may be called upon to provide support for payroll processing as needed, and to assist with audit requests by gathering and organizing necessary documentation. A significant part of this role involves actively identifying opportunities to enhance our Accounts Payable processes, strengthen internal controls, and drive overall efficiencies within the department.
  • • You will also be expected to perform other duties and contribute to ad hoc projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support the broader finance team's objectives. This role offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact Kraken's financial operations and contribute to our mission of accelerating crypto adoption.
