Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Shape the future of actuarial talent assessment at Correlation One, the global leader in closing critical data, digital, and technology skills gaps for Fortune 500 enterprises and forward-thinking governments. As our Actuarial Consultant (Dataset & Assessment Design), you will architect the actuarial datasets and evaluation frameworks that identify, measure, and elevate the next generation of actuarial talent—especially from under-represented communities—through our award-winning training programs and high-stakes data competitions.
  • • Own end-to-end design of realistic, high-impact actuarial datasets that mirror the complexity of insurance pricing, reserving, capital modeling, and risk management challenges faced by global insurers, reinsurers, and pension funds. You will source, clean, and anonymize proprietary and open data, ensuring statistical rigor, regulatory compliance, and pedagogical value while safeguarding sensitive policyholder information.
  • • Craft innovative assessment blueprints that evaluate candidates on core actuarial competencies: survival analysis, stochastic modeling, generalized linear models, machine-learning-enhanced pricing, IFRS 17 / LDTI readiness, and regulatory capital (Solvency II, RBC, SST). Each assessment must differentiate between entry-level analysts and near-FSA/FCAS professionals, providing granular scoring rubrics and actionable feedback.
  • • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of data scientists, instructional designers, psychometricians, and DEI specialists to embed fairness, accessibility, and real-world relevance into every task. You will translate actuarial syllabi from SOA, CAS, and IFoA into hands-on case studies that accelerate career progression for learners from non-traditional backgrounds.
  • • Continuously benchmark your datasets against industry loss triangles, mortality tables, lapse studies, and catastrophe model outputs to ensure authenticity. You will maintain version control, documentation, and reproducibility standards that allow rapid iteration as regulations and market conditions evolve.
  • • Provide expert review and calibration of candidate submissions, adjudicating code quality, actuarial assumptions, and business insight. Your feedback will directly influence hiring decisions at partner organizations and scholarship awards for community programs, amplifying social impact.
  • • Serve as the public face of actuarial rigor in webinars, white papers, and conference panels, sharing insights on emerging risks (climate, cyber, longevity) and the future of actuarial education. Your thought leadership will reinforce Correlation One’s reputation as the definitive authority on data-driven talent development.
  • • Leverage advanced analytics to monitor assessment performance, detect bias, and optimize predictive validity. You will run A/B tests on task wording, time limits, and scoring weights, translating findings into product enhancements that improve learner outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • • Mentor junior actuarial associates and data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and methodological excellence. You will curate internal libraries of actuarial code snippets, research papers, and regulatory updates, ensuring the team stays ahead of the curve.
  • • Partner with enterprise clients to customize assessments for niche lines of business—such as pet insurance, parametric covers, or embedded warranties—delivering tailored datasets that align with their strategic hiring and upskilling objectives.
  • • Champion ethical data use and transparency, ensuring all datasets comply with GDPR, CCPA, and emerging AI governance frameworks. You will conduct privacy impact assessments and maintain data-retention policies that protect both individuals and institutional partners.
  • • Drive revenue impact by translating assessment insights into upsell opportunities: advanced analytics projects, executive briefings, and bespoke talent pipelines. Your work will directly contribute to Correlation One’s mission of closing global skills gaps while advancing diversity in actuarial science.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (ASA/FSA), Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS/FCAS), or equivalent global credential, with at least 5 years of P&C, Life, Health, or Pension actuarial experience
  • • Demonstrated expertise in SQL, Python (pandas, scikit-learn, lifelines) or R (tidyverse, actuarial packages) for data manipulation, modeling, and visualization
  • • Proven track record designing assessments, case studies, or technical interview questions that evaluate actuarial judgment and coding proficiency
  • • Deep familiarity with insurance regulatory frameworks (Solvency II, IFRS 17, LDTI, RBC) and actuarial standards of practice
  • • Nice-to-have: Master’s or PhD in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or related quantitative field; experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Git-based workflows

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Fully remote-first culture with flexible hours and quarterly in-person summits in global tech hubs
  • • Competitive base salary plus performance bonus tied to learner outcomes and client renewals
  • • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and mental-wellness coverage for you and dependents
  • • Annual professional-development stipend (conferences, exam fees, advanced certifications)
  • • 20 days PTO plus company-wide recharge weeks and paid volunteer days for community impact projects
