📋 Description

• As an Agent Architect at Vapi Technologies Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping how enterprises deploy voice AI agents at scale, translating complex business needs into robust, production-ready architectures that power mission-critical workflows across industries. This role is central to Vapi’s mission of making voice the default interface for human-computer interaction, directly impacting customer success and platform evolution.
• You will own the end-to-end technical design of enterprise voice agent deployments, partnering closely with customers, engineering, and product teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with both business objectives and technical constraints. Your work will bridge the gap between strategic vision and implementation, driving adoption and satisfaction among high-value enterprise clients.
• Day-to-day, you will ramp on Vapi’s platform by mastering its APIs, agent capabilities, and architecture within the first 30 days, shadowing live customer deployments and technical discovery calls to understand real-world use cases and integration patterns.
• By day 60, you will lead technical discovery sessions with enterprise clients, design end-to-end solution architectures, build rapid prototypes using AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or Cowork, and produce detailed architecture diagrams and technical documentation tailored to stakeholder audiences.
• At 90 days and beyond, you will own full responsibility for architecting complex integrations involving REST APIs, webhooks, event-driven systems, and multi-step agent workflows, while collaborating with engineering and product teams to surface customer-driven platform improvements.
• You will work with enterprise customers generating $240K+ in annual contract value, navigating complex stakeholder environments that include technical teams, operations leaders, and C-suite executives, requiring strong communication, empathy, and influence without authority.
• The role demands autonomy and initiative—you will scope, design, and drive solutions independently, leveraging your experience in pre-sales, solutions architecture, or technical consulting to deliver measurable outcomes in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
• You will deepen your expertise in agentic AI systems, including tool use, function calling, reasoning chains, and LLM-based orchestration, while gaining hands-on experience with voice and telephony platforms, SIP/WebRTC protocols, and CPaaS ecosystems like Twilio or Vonage.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in solutions architecture, pre-sales engineering, technical consulting, or a similar customer-facing technical role
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into technically sound architectures and communicate effectively with both engineers and executives
• Experience owning end-to-end customer engagements and delivering complex technical solutions with measurable outcomes
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python or JavaScript
• Strong experience architecting API-first integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven systems
• Experience designing agentic workflows involving tool use, function calling, and multi-step reasoning chains
• Familiarity with conversational AI, voice or telephony platforms, NLP/NLU systems, or LLM-based applications
