📋 Description

• The AI Automation & Systems Engineer will design and build internal AI-powered systems to streamline operational workflows for a U.S.-based boutique advocacy and political consulting firm, directly supporting scalable project management and client service delivery through intelligent automation.
• This role is critical to transforming how the firm manages client initiatives by connecting AI tools like Claude and OpenAI with platforms such as Asana, Slack, and email to eliminate manual coordination and enable real-time, AI-driven task generation and reporting.
• The person will design and develop AI system architectures that translate business processes into automated workflows, including building integrations between LLMs, project management tools, and communication platforms to create seamless operational flows.
• Daily responsibilities include creating automation pipelines that trigger task generation from client communications, generating meeting summaries, updating project statuses, and synchronizing data across Slack, Asana, and email systems using tools like Zapier, Make, or n8n.
• The engineer will collaborate with leadership to design an AI-powered project management framework that allows natural language queries (e.g., "What’s the status of Client X’s campaign?") and provides automated prioritization, tracking, and reporting across multiple concurrent client initiatives.
• They will continuously evaluate emerging AI tools and automation platforms, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance system efficiency, usability, and scalability as the firm grows.
• Maintenance and iteration are core to the role: the engineer will monitor system performance, incorporate feedback from internal teams, and serve as the go-to expert for AI infrastructure updates, ensuring reliability and alignment with evolving operational needs.
• The role offers the opportunity to shape the firm’s AI strategy from the ground up, working directly with leadership to embed intelligent systems into daily operations and drive long-term efficiency gains.
• Success will be measured by the automation of repetitive workflows, reduced manual effort in project coordination, faster response times to client needs, and the creation of a self-improving AI infrastructure that scales with the firm’s growth.
• The engineer will gain deep expertise in applied AI systems design, enterprise automation, and workflow optimization in a high-impact, fast-paced consulting environment where technology directly enables strategic outcomes.
• They will develop advanced skills in LLM integration, API orchestration, and no-code/low-code automation platforms while contributing to meaningful operational transformation in a mission-driven organization.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience building AI-powered automation systems or internal operational tools that integrate LLMs with platforms like Asana, Slack, or email.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Zapier, Make, or n8n, and strong understanding of APIs for connecting AI models (e.g., Claude, OpenAI) to project management and communication systems.
• Experience working with project management platforms (Asana, ClickUp, etc.) and designing workflows that automate task creation, status updates, and team coordination.
• Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) such as Claude or OpenAI, including prompt engineering and integration via APIs.
• Strong strategic thinking around systems design and operational efficiency, with the ability to experiment, iterate, and adapt quickly in fast-changing technological environments.
• Comfortable working in a remote, fast-paced setting with shifting priorities and the ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical leadership and teams.
