- • Build and operate backend systems that serve AI-powered insurance workflows in production, including quotations, policy issuance, endorsements, claims, and customer follow-ups.
- • Design and implement AI orchestration layers that connect large language models (LLMs), APIs, business logic, and automated workflows.
- • Develop inference pipelines for LLM-based and AI-assisted automation systems to support real-time decisioning across insurance processes.
- • Optimize latency, throughput, and cost of AI services through caching, batching, streaming, and intelligent routing mechanisms.
- • Define and maintain stable service boundaries between backend systems, machine learning components, and product-facing APIs.
- • Implement comprehensive observability including logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and incident response workflows for distributed AI systems.
- • Debug and resolve root causes of production issues across complex, distributed AI infrastructure with high availability requirements.
- • Collaborate with frontend, product, operations, and machine learning teams to deliver end-to-end features from design to deployment.
- • Continuously improve system reliability, scalability, and performance based on real-world usage patterns and feedback.
- • Ensure AI workflows are stable, observable, and production-ready across multiple products and user-facing channels.
- • Maintain high standards of engineering discipline while moving quickly in a fast-paced, globally distributed team environment.
- • Own systems end-to-end—from initial design and implementation to production monitoring, iteration, and incident resolution.
- • Work with Python and Node.js to develop scalable backend services that integrate with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models).
- • Utilize SQL and NoSQL databases to manage data flows critical to insurance automation workflows.
- • Deploy and manage services using Kubernetes and Docker in a cloud-native infrastructure.
- • Apply distributed systems tooling and observability stacks to monitor, diagnose, and optimize system behavior under load.
- • Contribute to a culture of technical excellence, speed of execution, and practical decision-making focused on real-world impact.
- • Participate in a fully remote engineering organization collaborating across multiple countries and time zones.
- • Translate business requirements in insurance automation into robust, scalable technical solutions with clear operational ownership.
- • Prioritize system reliability, failure mode analysis, and latency reduction over theoretical or idealized designs.
- • Actively participate in incident response and post-mortem processes to prevent recurrence and improve system resilience.
- • Engage with evolving requirements and ambiguous problem spaces to deliver production-grade AI systems under dynamic conditions.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong backend engineering experience in production systems
- • Experience building or operating high-throughput, low-latency services
- • Familiarity with AI systems (LLMs, embeddings, or AI workflows)
- • Experience with distributed systems and production debugging
- • Strong understanding of APIs, data flows, and system design principles
- • Experience with observability tools (logging, monitoring, tracing)
