Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Sierra Studio is seeking an innovative and self-driven AI-Enabled Full Stack Engineer to join a mission-driven company dedicated to transforming early childhood education. As the primary engineer for their cutting-edge AI-powered guidance platform, you will play a pivotal role in developing features that empower educators with personalized coaching, provide directors with crucial classroom insights, and translate complex behavioral observations into actionable strategies. This is a unique opportunity to own the entire technology stack, from database design and API development to the user-facing React frontend, and to collaborate directly with an AI Product Manager to bring ambitious features from concept to reality.
  • • You will be instrumental in building the core functionalities of an AI platform that leverages educator surveys, classroom observations, and daily check-ins to generate tailored content for teachers and directors. This involves working with a sophisticated, multi-layered AI pipeline where each generation step builds upon the outputs of the previous one, demanding a deep understanding of structured AI generation and chained LLM outputs.
  • • This role offers a high degree of autonomy, empowering you to take ownership and drive projects forward even in the face of ambiguity. You will often begin building with incomplete specifications, iterating rapidly based on feedback and shipping features without the need for finalized, pixel-perfect designs. If you thrive in an environment where trust and ownership are paramount, and you are excited by the prospect of shaping a product from its early stages, this position is an ideal fit.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a wide range of full-stack development tasks. You will architect and implement AI-powered tools designed to enhance the educational experience, such as smart classroom insights dashboards, personalized behavior coaching strategies, leadership support hubs, and real-time assistance tools for both teachers and directors.
  • • A significant part of your work will involve designing, developing, and maintaining chained generation pipelines for structured LLM outputs. This means ensuring that the output of one AI model seamlessly feeds into the next, creating a robust and intelligent system.
  • • You will be responsible for shipping full-stack features end-to-end, demonstrating ownership from the database schema and API endpoints all the way to the user interface built with React.
  • • Architecting for multi-tenancy will be a key focus, as you will build and enhance a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform designed to serve multiple educational institutions while ensuring strict data isolation and security.
  • • Close collaboration with the AI Product Manager is essential. You will work hand-in-hand to refine product requirements, propose innovative technical solutions, and iterate quickly to deliver value.
  • • This role is critical as the company is looking to fill it immediately, placing you at a pivotal inflection point for product development. Your contributions will have a direct and immediate impact on the trajectory of the platform and the educators it serves.
  • • The company fosters a culture of mission-driven work, where technology directly impacts early childhood educators and the children they nurture. You will experience high levels of ownership and autonomy, with trust placed in your ability to make decisions and drive initiatives forward independently. A comfort with ambiguity is key, as requirements and designs will evolve, requiring a flexible and iterative approach. The environment is supportive and human-centric, valuing collaboration, embracing differences, and recognizing unique strengths. A growth mindset is encouraged, focusing on magnifying strengths, taking calculated risks, and learning from every experience.
  • • By joining this team, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of early education, directly influencing a platform that supports thousands of educators. As the primary engineer, you will possess significant decision-making power over technical architecture, tooling, and implementation strategies. You will be working at the forefront of AI in EdTech, building sophisticated LLM generation pipelines, structured AI outputs, and scheduled workflows. This is a role that offers high autonomy, real impact, and direct collaboration with leadership in a fast-moving, small-team environment.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • • Strong experience with Python and Next.js (or React + TypeScript).
  • • Basic knowledge of cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred).
  • • Experience with databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
  • • Hands-on experience with AI/LLM tools (personal projects, side experiments, or tinkering count).
  • • Strong written and verbal communication in English.
  • • Comfortable working autonomously with loose requirements and iterating over time.
  • • Ability to deliver without a final design and adjust later.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in Brazil.
  • • Opportunity to shape the future of early childhood education through technology.
  • • High autonomy and ownership over technical direction and implementation.
  • • Work at the cutting edge of AI in EdTech, building complex LLM pipelines.
  • • Direct collaboration with the CEO and AI Product Manager in a small, fast-moving team.
  • • Competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
