📋 Description

• • AI Engineer II role focused on designing and delivering production AI systems for translational research and scientific operations, supporting decision-making and accelerating discoveries for top research organizations including NIH institutes.
• • Day-to-day responsibilities include architecting retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, agentic pipelines, and document understanding workflows; building and optimizing retrieval pipelines with embedding generation, vector search, and reranking; developing document ingestion and parsing pipelines for scientific documents; integrating structured knowledge like ontologies and knowledge graphs with unstructured text; operating shared platform services such as model gateways and API key management; deploying and monitoring services on Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure; defining and tracking AI system quality metrics; engaging directly with non-technical clients to gather requirements and validate solutions; mentoring junior engineers and participating in agile ceremonies.
