Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect and deliver high-impact AI/ML solutions that fuse multi-source sensor data into a single, time-dominant track picture for defense and intelligence operators. Your models will directly shorten the sensor-to-shooter timeline and save lives in contested environments.
- • Own the full ML lifecycle: ingest raw electro-optical, SAR, GMTI, and SIGINT feeds; engineer features; train deep-learning and classical models for object detection, classification, and cross-sensor correlation; containerize with Docker; and deploy to on-prem GPU clusters and classified AWS regions.
- • Push the boundaries of remote-sensing analytics by experimenting with state-of-the-art architectures (CNNs, ViTs, GNNs, transformers) to exploit subtle signatures in high-resolution imagery and full-motion video, achieving >95 % precision/recall on never-before-seen targets.
- • Build real-time data-fusion pipelines that ingest 10-100 GB/hour of streaming data, apply Kalman and Bayesian filters, and output fused tracks with sub-second latency to tactical C2 systems via REST and ZeroMQ endpoints.
- • Collaborate daily with imagery analysts, SIGINT linguists, and mission operators to translate raw intelligence needs into model requirements, then iterate rapidly in two-week sprints to deliver measurable mission impact.
- • Harden models against adversarial spoofing and concept drift by integrating continuous-learning loops, automated retraining, and drift-detection monitors that alert operators when performance degrades.
- • Leverage Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, OpenCV, GDAL, and cuDF to prototype at speed, then refactor into production-grade code that passes rigorous DoD security reviews and runs on air-gapped networks.
- • Maintain strict configuration management with Git/GitLab CI, enforce branch protection, peer reviews, and automated unit/integration tests to guarantee code integrity across multi-developer teams.
- • Troubleshoot and optimize GPU-accelerated inference services on RHEL and Ubuntu systems, tuning kernel parameters, memory allocation, and container resource limits to achieve 99.9 % uptime under peak load.
- • Document algorithms, APIs, and deployment playbooks in Confluence and Markdown so that future engineers—and cleared mission partners—can reproduce results and extend capabilities without tribal knowledge.
- • Present findings to senior defense stakeholders, translating complex technical metrics into clear operational value: reduced false-alarm rates, expanded coverage areas, and faster threat confirmation times.
- • Mentor junior data scientists and interns, sharing best practices in MLOps, secure coding, and cloud-native architecture to scale the team’s collective impact across multiple classified programs.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years hands-on experience designing, training, and deploying AI/ML models for object identification and classification in defense, intelligence, or similarly regulated environments.
- • 4+ years professional Python development with proven use of ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn) and data-science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Xarray, Dask).
- • Demonstrated background in remote-sensing data exploitation, algorithm development, and large-scale geospatial analytics.
- • Proficiency with Git for version control and collaborative software workflows (branching, pull requests, CI/CD).
- • Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance and willingness to obtain a CI polygraph.
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Mission-first culture where >50 % of colleagues are Veterans who understand the real-world stakes of your work.
- • Veteran Outreach Program with dedicated career coaching, mentorship, and leadership pathways.
- • Access to cutting-edge GPU clusters, classified cloud sandboxes, and emerging sensor datasets rarely available outside government labs.
- • Flexible on-site schedule, generous PTO, and employer-covered medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family.
