• • As a Senior AI QA Automation Engineer at DevRev Inc., you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of software quality assurance by leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies and advanced automation frameworks. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing and accelerating our testing processes, ensuring the robustness, efficiency, and reliability of our AI-powered SaaS platform. This is a unique opportunity to architect and govern our test automation ecosystem, driving innovation and best practices within a dynamic, globally distributed team.
• • Your primary responsibility will be to implement and utilize AI and intelligent agents to significantly accelerate test generation processes. You will lead the transition from traditional manual test case development to sophisticated AI-driven automation solutions, thereby enhancing overall testing efficiency and effectiveness. This involves exploring and integrating AI-powered tools for automated test case generation, identifying flaky tests, and enabling intelligent exploratory testing, potentially using platforms like Testim, Mabl, Diffblue, or custom LLM-based generation tools.
• • You will be instrumental in defining clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases based on product requirements, specifications, and user stories. This includes ensuring that test cases cover a wide range of scenarios, including positive and negative paths, edge cases, and complex system interactions. Maintaining strict traceability between test cases and product features will be crucial for comprehensive coverage and validation.
• • A significant part of your role will involve organizing and maintaining test suites to accurately reflect product changes and evolving test coverage needs. You will be responsible for refactoring outdated or redundant tests to ensure their relevance and accuracy, maintaining a clear and accessible structure for both manual and automated test suites to promote reusability and ease of access.
• • You will architect, design, and implement a state-of-the-art test automation framework using Playwright, specifically tailored for end-to-end web testing. This framework must be modular, highly maintainable, and scalable to accommodate future growth and complexity. You will create a comprehensive blueprint and establish best practices for the entire QA team to seamlessly onboard and contribute new automated test cases.
• • Defining and enforcing coding standards, version control practices, branching strategies, and rigorous code review guidelines for the QA automation codebase will be a key responsibility. This ensures consistency, quality, and maintainability across all automated tests.
• • You will integrate test automation seamlessly into our CI/CD pipelines, enabling real-time test reporting and immediate feedback loops. This integration is critical for accelerating our software delivery cycle and ensuring continuous quality checks.
• • Championing shift-left testing practices will be a core tenet of your role. You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to identify and resolve issues as early as possible in the development lifecycle, thereby reducing the cost and impact of defects.
• • You will oversee the continuous maintenance and improvement of the existing test framework, proactively analyzing test failures and test escapes to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Fostering a culture of quality through ongoing improvements in testing methodologies and frameworks will be paramount.
• • Designing and developing insightful test reports to provide clear visibility into the test suite's performance, coverage, and failure trends will be essential. Furthermore, you will implement an effective test failures alerting system to promptly notify feature owners and responsible developers of any System Under Test (SUT) issues and failures, minimizing downtime and accelerating resolution.
• • As a technical leader, you will mentor and guide the QA automation team, sharing your expertise and promoting a collaborative environment focused on achieving the highest standards of software quality. Your strategic vision and hands-on execution will be vital in establishing a scalable, maintainable, and robust test automation ecosystem that supports DevRev's mission to deliver exceptional AI-powered products.
