📋 Description

• Join Bioptimus as an AI Solutions Engineer and become the critical bridge between our cutting-edge universal AI foundation model for biology and the scientists, biotech companies, and pharmaceutical partners who will use it to accelerate breakthrough discoveries. You will own the end-to-end technical relationship with external stakeholders, translating complex biological questions into high-impact AI workflows and ensuring seamless deployment of our platform in real-world R&D pipelines.
• Architect and deliver bespoke AI solutions that leverage our multi-modal foundation model—spanning genomics, transcriptomics, imaging, and clinical data—to solve concrete problems in target identification, drug repurposing, biomarker discovery, and patient stratification. You will work hand-in-hand with research teams to scope use cases, design data strategies, fine-tune models, and validate results against wet-lab or clinical endpoints.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact during pre-sales, pilot, and production phases. You will run discovery workshops, create proof-of-concept notebooks, benchmark performance against legacy methods, and present findings to scientific executives. Your ability to communicate fluently in both machine-learning and biological language will be key to winning and retaining multimillion-dollar partnerships.
• Build reusable solution blueprints, SDK extensions, and reference architectures that allow partners to integrate Bioptimus capabilities into their existing LIMS, ELN, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure). You will author clear documentation, sample code, and best-practice guides that reduce onboarding time from weeks to days.
• Collaborate with our product and core-model teams to feed field insights back into roadmap decisions. When a partner uncovers a new modality or data type, you will prototype ingestion pipelines, evaluate model drift, and propose enhancements that benefit the entire user base.
• Drive continuous performance optimization by monitoring GPU utilization, inference latency, and cost per prediction. You will implement caching layers, quantization strategies, and batch-scheduling logic that keep cloud spend predictable while delivering sub-second response times for interactive analyses.
• Champion responsible AI practices by embedding privacy-preserving techniques (federated learning, differential privacy) and fairness audits into every solution. You will ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and emerging EU AI Act requirements, positioning Bioptimus as the trusted partner for sensitive biomedical data.
• Contribute to open-source initiatives and scientific publications that showcase novel applications of foundation models in biology. Your work will directly influence how the global research community adopts AI, accelerating the path from bench to bedside.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience delivering machine-learning solutions in production, preferably in life sciences or healthcare
• Deep proficiency in Python (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and cloud MLOps (Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Terraform)
• Demonstrated ability to translate biological questions into tractable ML tasks and validate outcomes with wet-lab or clinical data
• Strong communication skills with a track record of presenting complex technical concepts to scientific and business stakeholders
• Nice-to-have: PhD or MSc in computational biology, bioinformatics, or related field; experience with multi-modal biological data (omics, imaging, EHR); familiarity with regulatory frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, GxP)
