Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Serve as the primary AML practitioner voice on customer sales calls, deployments, and technical deep dives, providing credible, firsthand insight into AML workflows, SAR/STR processes, and regulatory expectations across diverse financial institutions.
- • Collaborate directly with Product, Risk, AI Agents, and GTM teams to translate real-world AML operational challenges into product requirements, ensuring AI-driven solutions align with actual analyst workflows and regulatory standards.
- • Evaluate and calibrate AI-generated AML outputs—including SAR narratives and alert triage decisions—against real-world investigative practices, identifying gaps where automation fails to meet compliance or operational expectations.
- • Support FDE (Field Deployment Engineering) implementations by guiding customers through AML agent configuration, ensuring alignment with their specific transaction monitoring systems, typologies, and institutional risk profiles.
- • Engage with customers across varied institution types—including Canadian credit unions, UK neobanks, U.S. community banks, and mid-market payment companies—to understand and articulate how AML operations differ by jurisdiction, size, and regulatory environment.
- • Act as a peer to existing customers during QBRs and implementation calls, providing AML judgment and context when they expand Oscilar’s capabilities into new use cases or face complex compliance scenarios.
- • Identify and document product gaps in AML functionality based on frontline experience, such as misaligned auto-narratives, inefficient alert handling in high-volume queues, or missed typologies specific to non-bank institutions.
- • Work alongside engineering and product teams to define what “good” looks like for AI-assisted AML workflows, translating regulatory and operational constraints into actionable feedback for model refinement.
- • Contribute to shaping the AML product roadmap by feeding insights from customer interactions, case queue realities, and regulatory nuances that are not captured in policy documents or high-level compliance frameworks.
- • Maintain credibility with customers by demonstrating deep, hands-on experience with Tier 1 reviews, holiday-weekend alert backlogs, and friction points in legacy transaction monitoring systems.
- • Partner with Risk SMEs to bridge the gap between strategic regulatory guidance and ground-level AML execution, becoming the trusted practitioner reference point for both internal teams and external clients.
- • Represent Oscilar in customer-facing technical discussions where AML judgment is the critical constraint, ensuring technical solutions are grounded in real-world compliance behavior, not theoretical frameworks.
- • Drive adoption by being the only team member who has personally worked the case queues, filed SARs under deadline, and navigated BSA officer objections—making you the only credible voice customers trust on AML-specific questions.
- • Build the AML playbook from scratch within Oscilar, as there is no inherited process; your field experience directly informs how the product evolves and how customers are onboarded.
- • Support growth in Canada (FINTRAC/PCMLTFA) and UK/EU (FCA, JMLSG, AMLD) markets by speaking authoritatively to regional regulatory environments and operational norms.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 5+ years as an AML analyst or manager with direct experience triaging alerts, filing SARs/STRs, and navigating transaction monitoring system limitations
- • Proven experience working across multiple types of financial institutions (e.g., large bank, community bank, neobank, payment processor, credit union)
- • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted AML tools or case management systems, with the ability to critique their outputs from an operational compliance perspective
- • CAMS certification preferred
- • Demonstrated understanding of AML regulations in Canada (FINTRAC/PCMLTFA), UK (FCA, JMLSG), or EU (AMLD)
- • Ability to articulate why an AI-generated SAR narrative would fail regulatory scrutiny based on real-world analyst behavior
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and equity package including a 401k plan
- • 100% employer-covered comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents (US)
- • Unlimited PTO policy
- • Remote-first culture with the ability to work from anywhere
- • AI-first company culture with over 50% of employees in Engineering and Product
- • Regular team events and offsites in a family-friendly environment
- • Unparalleled professional development and learning opportunities
