📋 Description

• As an Analytics Engineer at Skelar AS, you will be responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and providing insights to drive business decisions.
• You will work with large datasets, handling tens of thousands of events per day, and ensure that data is processed efficiently and accurately.
• Your tasks will include budgeting decisions, campaign speed, team trust in data, and compliance risks.
• You will be responsible for understanding the importance of data as a signal that directly controls advertising algorithms, generating ~80,000 optimization events daily.
• You will need to have a deep understanding of SQL, writing efficient queries on large datasets, and experience with dbt (Dataform +) to build and maintain transformations as code with tests and documentation.
• You will also need to have experience with data modeling, building data structures that can handle company growth, and attention to detail at the pipeline level.
• You will work at the intersection of product, marketing, and advertising, understanding that an event is not just a row in a table, but a signal that flies to Meta, Google, TikTok, and shapes future targeting.
• You will be proactive, not just fixing problems post-factum, but building monitoring and alerts that catch data collection issues before they impact campaigns.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of SQL, with the ability to write efficient queries on large datasets.
• Experience with dbt (Dataform +) to build and maintain transformations as code with tests and documentation.
• Knowledge of data modeling, building data structures that can handle company growth.
• Attention to detail at the pipeline level, with the ability to identify anomalies in data streams.
• Experience working at the intersection of product, marketing, and advertising, with a deep understanding of performance marketing metrics.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
