- • Answers telephone promptly and professionally to support patient access functions.
- • Coordinates scheduling of diagnostic tests and procedures, ensuring correct location and appropriate resources are allocated.
- • Obtains and documents pre-certification and authorization requirements for patient services.
- • Verifies insurance details and notifies patients or physician office staff of out-of-network carriers or potential benefit reductions.
- • Accurately enters patient information, insurance data, and scheduling details into hospital systems including Epic and admissions modules.
- • Duplicates edits made in the scheduling module to the admissions module to maintain data integrity.
- • Monitors daily scheduling reports to ensure operational readiness during potential system downtimes.
- • Collaborates with physician office staff to confirm pre-cert/authorization numbers are properly entered into scheduling and registration systems.
- • Consistently selects the correct patient medical record number to prevent documentation errors.
- • Communicates testing requirements and scheduling instructions to patients and physician offices based on system guidelines.
- • Maintains open communication with registration staff to accommodate unscheduled patients and ensure available testing times.
- • Receives, maintains, and indexes physician orders according to facility standards and guidelines.
- • Uses appropriate communication tools to coordinate with Patient Access and other facility departments.
- • Works closely with multidisciplinary care teams to support patient care continuity across the care continuum.
- • Serves as a resource for care management and provides patient education regarding scheduling and testing protocols.
- • Attends required in-service education and completes all annual training obligations.
- • Performs accurate mathematical calculations, reconciles figures, and ensures correct grammar, spelling, and transcription in all documentation.
- • Establishes and maintains trust with patients, families, and external partners through consistent, respectful service.
- • Demonstrates proficiency in required PC applications and adheres to all organizational policies, procedures, and systems.
🎯 Requirements
- • High School Diploma or GED required
- • 1 or more years of customer service experience required
- • Radiology or physician office scheduling experience preferred
- • Demonstrated proficiency in PC applications
- • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
- • Accurate mathematical, grammatical, and transcription skills
