📋 Description

• As an Android Engineer II at Zello, you will build and ship features for the Android app that carries 80% of the company’s revenue, directly impacting over 175 million users worldwide.
• You will own end-to-end feature development in Kotlin (with Java for legacy), write production code daily, and ensure quality through testing, code reviews, and stability focus.
• You’ll join a small, high-impact four-person Android team where your contributions are visible from day one and felt by every Android user.
• You’ll contribute to Zello’s Android 2.0 rearchitecture using Hilt, modular Gradle, and MVVM/MVI patterns, while improving AI-assisted development workflows.
• Over time, you’ll ship multiple features, reduce crash rates, fix customer-impacting bugs, and grow into a fluent contributor to Zello’s AI-native dev practices.

🎯 Requirements

• Shipped production Android apps in Kotlin for at least 2 years, with comfort working in Java when navigating legacy code.
• Experience with modern Android architecture including dependency injection (DI), modular Gradle, MVVM, or MVI on real codebases.
• Definition of 'done' includes writing tests, minimizing crash impact, and welcoming code review feedback without ego.
• Regular use of AI-assisted development tools as a default practice, with opinions on effectiveness and a habit of contributing improvements.
• Ability to take ownership of focused scope and ship features independently without requiring constant direction.
