- • Build and maintain production-grade Android applications using Kotlin for BJAK’s digital insurance and financial services platform.
- • Design and implement intuitive, responsive mobile interfaces for insurance quoting, policy management, claims submission, and payment workflows.
- • Integrate with backend RESTful APIs to enable core functionalities including quotations, transaction processing, and customer account management.
- • Contribute to mobile features powered by AI-assisted capabilities such as chat interfaces, personalized recommendations, and automated workflows.
- • Optimize application performance, memory usage, battery efficiency, and responsiveness across a wide range of Android devices.
- • Implement and maintain analytics, crash reporting, and user behavior tracking systems to drive product improvements and reduce incidents.
- • Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, designers, and AI/ML teams throughout the full development lifecycle.
- • Ensure mobile systems meet high standards of stability, scalability, and security in production environments.
- • Apply Android Jetpack components including ViewModel, Compose, and XML-based UI patterns to build maintainable and modern UIs.
- • Utilize Coroutines and Flow for asynchronous programming and efficient data handling in mobile applications.
- • Improve engineering standards by adopting best practices in architecture, testing, code review, and CI/CD pipelines.
- • Ship high-quality mobile features with strong system design discipline and comprehensive testing coverage.
- • Reduce production crashes and performance regressions through proactive monitoring, debugging, and optimization.
- • Enable on-device AI capabilities by integrating frameworks such as TensorFlow Lite where applicable.
- • Maintain published apps on the Google Play Store with adherence to platform guidelines and user experience standards.
- • Take full ownership of features from concept and design through deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement.
- • Work within a globally distributed engineering team across multiple countries in a fully remote environment.
- • Contribute to a scalable and maintainable mobile architecture that supports millions of users across Southeast Asia and beyond.
- • Prioritize real user impact, product quality, and long-term system maintainability over short-term task completion.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin
- • Strong understanding of Android architecture components and modern development practices
- • Proven experience shipping production Android applications
- • Strong knowledge of Coroutines, Flow, and asynchronous programming
- • Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with distributed systems
- • Familiarity with mobile performance tuning and debugging in production environments
