📋 Description

• Build and maintain production-grade Android applications using Kotlin for BJAK’s digital insurance and financial services platform.
• Design and implement intuitive, responsive mobile interfaces for insurance quoting, policy management, claims submission, and payment workflows.
• Integrate with backend RESTful APIs to enable core functionalities including real-time quotations, transaction processing, and customer account management.
• Develop and integrate AI-assisted mobile features such as chat interfaces, personalized recommendations, and automated workflow triggers to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
• Optimize application performance across diverse Android devices by improving responsiveness, reducing memory usage, minimizing battery drain, and ensuring smooth animations.
• Implement and maintain analytics, crash reporting, and user behavior tracking systems to drive data-informed product improvements and reduce production incidents.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, UX designers, and AI/ML teams throughout the full development lifecycle—from ideation to deployment and iteration.
• Ensure mobile systems meet high standards of stability, scalability, and security, with rigorous testing and monitoring in production environments.
• Contribute to the evolution of mobile architecture by adopting modern Android development practices, including Android Jetpack components (ViewModel, Compose, and XML-based UI where applicable).
• Leverage Coroutines and Flow for efficient asynchronous programming and state management in complex mobile workflows.
• Apply best practices in mobile performance tuning, debugging, and memory management to resolve production issues and prevent regressions.
• Maintain and improve engineering standards through code reviews, documentation, and adoption of scalable architectural patterns.
• Publish and manage app releases on the Google Play Store, ensuring compliance with platform guidelines and timely updates.
• Work within a fully remote, globally distributed engineering team spanning multiple countries to deliver high-impact mobile experiences used by millions across Southeast Asia and beyond.
• Take full ownership of features from design and implementation through to production reliability, incident response, and iterative improvement.
• Contribute to a culture of technical excellence, speed of execution, and practical decision-making with a strong focus on real user impact and product quality.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin
• Strong understanding of Android architecture components and modern development practices
• Proven experience shipping production Android applications
• Strong knowledge of Coroutines, Flow, and asynchronous programming
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with distributed systems
• Familiarity with mobile performance tuning and debugging in production environments
