Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • • Polygon Labs is at the forefront of blockchain innovation, dedicated to building and operating infrastructure that enables instant, reliable, and scalable money movement on the internet. Our mission is to transition all financial transactions onto the blockchain, creating the Polygon Open Money Stack – a comprehensive suite of services and technologies designed for seamless global payments. With a proven track record of facilitating trillions of dollars in value transfer and supporting millions of daily transactions for leading global banks, fintech companies, enterprises, and consumer applications, we are a dynamic and rapidly growing organization.
  • • As an AP/AR Manager at Polygon Labs, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our finance operations. Reporting directly to senior finance leadership, you will assume complete ownership of both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions. This role is far more than transactional; it's a strategic opportunity to architect and implement scalable, automation-driven systems that will underpin our expanding global payments business. You will be empowered to rebuild and redefine how finance operations function, embedding automation, seamless system integrations, and intelligent workflows from the ground up.
  • • Currently, our AR processes are largely manual. Your primary challenge and opportunity will be to design, develop, and deploy the essential tools, robust workflows, and stringent controls that will transform our billing, collections, reconciliation, and reporting activities into highly streamlined, technology-enabled processes. This is a chance to move beyond task execution and truly innovate, creating a best-in-class finance operation.
  • • You will collaborate closely with key departments, including Accounting, Revenue Operations, and Treasury, to ensure the seamless operationalization of our billing infrastructure. This integration will span both traditional fiat currency revenue streams and emerging onchain revenue sources, requiring a nuanced understanding of diverse financial mechanisms.
  • • If you are passionate about elevating processes from merely functional to exceptionally efficient, and if you thrive on building scalable systems that can adapt to rapid growth, this role offers unparalleled ownership and the potential for significant impact. You will be a key architect of our financial infrastructure, ensuring its robustness and scalability for years to come.
  • • Your core responsibilities will encompass owning and continuously evolving our end-to-end AP/AR operations, while simultaneously implementing cutting-edge systems that are essential for supporting a modern, global payments infrastructure. This includes leading the full-cycle AP and AR processes for both fiat and digital asset transactions. You will be responsible for the accurate categorization of expenses, meticulous invoicing, proactive collections, efficient vendor management, thorough reconciliations, and precise cash application.
  • • A significant part of your mandate will be to build the AR function from its inception, establishing standardized, repeatable, and highly effective billing, tracking, and collections workflows. This foundational work will set the stage for future growth and efficiency.
  • • You will be tasked with evaluating, selecting, implementing, and fully operationalizing advanced billing and invoicing systems. These systems must be capable of seamless integration with our existing APIs, ERP systems, and other critical internal tools, ensuring a unified financial ecosystem.
  • • Cross-functional partnership will be paramount. You will work hand-in-hand with Accounting, Revenue Operations, and Treasury to guarantee accurate revenue capture, meticulous fee reconciliation, and strict alignment between all billing data and general ledger reporting.
  • • Driving automation initiatives will be a key focus. Your efforts will aim to significantly reduce manual workload, enhance internal controls, and dramatically improve visibility across all payables and receivables activities.
  • • You will also manage and mentor a part-time Bookkeeper, ensuring the development of clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support audit readiness and facilitate future scalability of the finance team.
