• • We are actively seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Draftperson/Detailer to join our dynamic team at D2B, contributing significantly to our pre-cut production processes. This is a crucial remote role focused on the meticulous execution of detailed drafting work, ensuring the creation of precise technical drawings that are essential for our manufacturing operations. As a Draftperson/Detailer, your primary responsibility will be to translate architectural and engineering plans into accurate, production-ready construction, precut, and assembly drawings. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our factory and production teams have the clear, unambiguous documentation they need to operate efficiently and effectively.
• • A core aspect of this role involves adhering strictly to internal detailing procedures, established standards, and specific instructions provided by the Head Detailer. This ensures consistency and quality across all our projects. Your expertise will extend to producing detailed cutting lists, specifying timber sizes, and generating other essential documentation required for seamless factory production. This requires a deep understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes.
• • You will be expected to maintain and continuously update your knowledge of drafting procedures and the various software tools utilized within the company. This includes staying abreast of new features and best practices in CAD software to maximize efficiency and accuracy. While this is not a leadership or customer-facing position, effective internal communication is vital. All external communications and project-specific queries will be managed through your Team Leader or the Head Detailer, who will relay all necessary information and instructions. Your focus will be on internal coordination with the Team Leader and relevant departments such as the factory, production, and estimating teams, ensuring a smooth workflow.
• • The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong capability in preparing shop drawings, which are detailed plans for fabrication, and comprehensive detailing documentation. Accuracy, consistency, and timeliness are paramount in this role. You will be responsible for ensuring that all drawings are completed to the highest standards, reflecting meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Maintaining organized, up-to-date documentation that complies with all company procedures is also a key responsibility, ensuring traceability and ease of access for all relevant stakeholders.
• • Furthermore, you will utilize your technical judgment to proactively identify potential drawing issues, flag any inconsistencies or discrepancies found in the source plans, and propose viable solutions. These observations and recommendations should be communicated through the Team Leader for review and implementation. Proper and efficient use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software relevant to the drafting function is essential for success in this role. You will be a key contributor to the efficiency and accuracy of our pre-cut production workflow, directly impacting the quality and timeliness of our projects.
