This pivotal role is responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive people agenda that supports Tala's ambitious growth objectives and reinforces our mission to unleash the economic power of the global majority. As a key member of the global People team, you will partner closely with regional leadership and global functional heads to ensure our HR practices are innovative, scalable, and aligned with our core values and business priorities.
- • In this capacity, you will oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle within the APAC region, from talent acquisition and onboarding to performance management, employee development, compensation and benefits, and employee relations. You will be instrumental in fostering a high-performance culture that attracts, retains, and develops top talent, ensuring Tala remains an employer of choice in the competitive fintech landscape.
- • A significant part of your role will involve developing and implementing strategic HR initiatives tailored to the unique cultural and regulatory environments of the APAC markets. This includes designing and executing talent acquisition strategies to build robust pipelines of qualified candidates, optimizing onboarding processes to ensure rapid integration and productivity, and establishing effective performance management systems that drive accountability and growth.
- • You will also be responsible for developing and managing comprehensive compensation and benefits programs that are competitive and equitable, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and regulations across multiple countries. This involves understanding the pulse of the organization through various feedback mechanisms, developing targeted programs to enhance employee experience, and championing initiatives that promote a positive and supportive work environment. You will also be responsible for managing employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies, and promoting a culture of open communication and respect.
- • Leveraging data and analytics, you will track key HR metrics, identify trends, and provide insights to inform strategic decision-making. This includes analyzing workforce demographics, turnover rates, engagement scores, and other relevant data points to measure the effectiveness of HR programs and identify areas for improvement.
- • You will collaborate closely with the global People team to ensure alignment on HR policies, systems, and best practices, while also adapting them to meet regional needs. This includes contributing to the development of global HR frameworks and ensuring their successful implementation in the APAC region.
- • The role requires a proactive and strategic approach to talent development. You will identify critical skill gaps, design and implement learning and development programs, and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth for all employees. This includes supporting leadership development and succession planning efforts.
- • As Tala continues its rapid expansion, you will be a key partner in managing organizational change, ensuring smooth transitions, and maintaining employee morale and productivity. This involves effective communication, stakeholder management, and the implementation of change management strategies.
- • Ultimately, the APAC Regional People Director will be a champion for Tala's mission and values, ensuring that our people practices reflect our commitment to empowering the global majority and fostering a culture of innovation, integrity, and impact. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of a fast-growing, mission-driven fintech company in one of the world's most dynamic regions.
