- • Define application architecture patterns, reference designs, and engineering standards to ensure scalable and maintainable software solutions.
- • Review major solution designs to validate scalability, maintainability, and alignment with target-state architectural principles.
- • Guide engineering teams on modularity, API design, service boundaries, and reusable components across applications.
- • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Solution Architecture teams to make target-state design decisions and influence technical direction.
- • Contribute to roadmap planning by identifying architectural dependencies and technical investment needs that impact long-term delivery.
- • Evaluate tradeoffs between speed of delivery, reuse of components, and long-term system maintainability in high-stakes client engagements.
- • Mentor engineering teams on design quality, architecture best practices, and adherence to established standards.
- • Support code review and design review processes for high-impact initiatives to ensure architectural integrity.
- • Document and continuously evolve application standards as the technology portfolio grows and client needs evolve.
- • Communicate complex architecture concepts clearly to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, including clients and senior leadership.
- • Influence without becoming a bottleneck by balancing ideal-state architecture with practical business constraints and timelines.
- • Demonstrate consistent commitment to reuse, clarity, and technical quality across all delivered solutions.
- • Work in a hybrid model with flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week, based in one of Accordion’s U.S. offices.
- • Engage with clients in the private equity space, supporting the office of the CFO through data-driven financial consulting and technology solutions.
- • Manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously while maintaining deep involvement in hands-on architectural delivery.
- • Lead by example, fostering a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture within a flat organizational structure.
- • Act as a self-starter with strong work ethic, capable of driving initiatives independently while aligning with team goals.
- • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the professional growth of team members through guidance and feedback.
- • Maintain awareness of cloud-based and enterprise application environments to inform architectural decisions.
- • Deliver exceptional client service by combining strategic thinking with attention to operational detail.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of software architecture or senior application engineering experience
- • Expertise in APIs, modular applications, integration patterns, and scalable system design
- • Bachelor’s degree required
- • Experience in cloud-based and enterprise application environments
- • Ability to communicate architecture concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- • Comfort influencing without becoming a bottleneck, balancing ideal-state architecture with business needs

- • Annual salary range of $175,000 to $230,000
