- • Provide application engineering support to customers, including rapid response to technical queries from distributors, contractors, and OEMs to deliver suitable refrigeration solutions for their projects.
- • Assist customers in using product selection software and heat load calculation tools to determine optimal system configurations.
- • Guide customers in selecting refrigerant line components, sizing refrigerant lines, and choosing appropriate electrical switch gears for refrigeration systems.
- • Maintain and expand the technical library, supporting the development of catalogs, application engineering bulletins, user manuals, and cross-reference documents comparing Copeland products with competitors.
- • Engage customers on alternative refrigerant applications and explore new regional use cases for refrigeration technology.
- • Support the transition from semi-hermetic compressors to scroll compressors within the MEA region by collaborating with sales and technical teams.
- • Lead New Business Opportunities (NBO) for refrigeration products in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) in alignment with the sales organization.
- • Develop and manage a technical training calendar, creating comprehensive training materials on controllers, protections, condensing units, and compressors.
- • Deliver hands-on technical training sessions to customers and partners, ensuring practical understanding of equipment operation and maintenance.
- • Coordinate logistics, tools, and resources required for the training center to ensure seamless delivery of educational programs.
- • Manage warranty claims by providing troubleshooting support for both production and field failures of refrigeration systems.
- • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) using data logging, field visits, and compressor teardowns to identify failure mechanisms.
- • Collaborate with manufacturing plants to relay field feedback and drive product performance improvements.
- • Analyze and maintain warranty data to support continuous improvement initiatives and inform product design enhancements.
- • Travel across the African region to support customer sites, conduct field assessments, and deliver on-site training as required.
- • Work outside standard office environments, including industrial sites, warehouses, and remote locations, to fulfill technical support obligations.
- • Adhere strictly to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and procedures in all field and office activities.
🎯 Requirements
- • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- • 8–10 years of experience in HVACR design, projects, service, technical support, or training within the HVACR industry
- • Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, refrigeration systems, and controls
- • Technical expertise in troubleshooting and application support for refrigeration equipment
- • Willingness to travel extensively across the African region
- • Competence in Microsoft Office and technical software tools
