- • The Area Accountant performs accounting activities to record, analyze, and monitor financial information under general direction, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include compiling and analyzing financial data to prepare journal entries and operational reports, reconciling balance sheet accounts, assisting with internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, supporting month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes, and providing guidance to accounting teams in areas such as invoicing, billing, cash receipts, and payroll.
- • The role supports the Area Controller and collaborates with corporate departments including tax, treasury, IT, HR, legal, and sales, as well as regional financial management, serving as a resource for accounting and administrative staff.
- • The position offers opportunities to deepen expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and cross-functional collaboration while contributing to the financial integrity of a large, environmentally focused organization with operations across North America.
🎯 Requirements
- • Accounting experience
- • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- • Intermediate-level MS Excel skills
- • Experience with general ledger software, including Oracle accounting software
- • Strong analytical and organizational skills
- • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision
