đź“‹ Description

  • • Lyte, Inc. is at the forefront of developing advanced perception systems for Physical AI, designed to operate seamlessly in complex and dynamic environments. Our innovative platform integrates custom silicon, sophisticated sensors, and intelligent software, driving the next generation of robotics, mobility, and automation. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, with a growing global footprint, Lyte is where impactful technology is built in a hands-on, fast-paced setting. If you are passionate about creating groundbreaking solutions and thrive in a collaborative, engineering-driven culture, we invite you to join our mission.
  • • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Lead Engineer specializing in optical device packaging and assembly. This pivotal role requires a strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related technical field. You will be instrumental in driving the efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness of our optical engine and system module assembly processes. This involves the design and implementation of advanced automation and tooling solutions, supported by both hardware and software development. A key aspect of your role will be leveraging Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor performance and champion improvements in process capability (Cp) and Cpk.
  • • Your responsibilities will extend to supporting our Research and Development (R&D) and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams. This includes contributing to mechanical design, creating detailed engineering drawings, and performing critical thermal modeling to ensure the integrity and performance of our devices. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in automating device testing and data analysis, developing and implementing scripts or software to streamline these processes and extract actionable insights.
  • • A significant part of your contribution will involve close collaboration with R&D to thoroughly understand device specifications, particularly mechanical control outlines (MCOs) and assembly requirements. You will act as a key negotiator, balancing incoming device MCOs, mechanical design constraints, and assembly process capabilities, informed by design improvements and experimental data from designed experiments (DOEs).
  • • You will also work closely with our external partners, including Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) providers, to support NPI and high-volume production. This includes drafting technical Statements of Work (SOWs) and ensuring seamless integration of our processes with contract manufacturers.
  • • As a technical project manager for your assigned projects, you will be responsible for driving them from concept to completion. This requires strong organizational skills, proactive problem-solving, and effective communication with all stakeholders. You will provide critical Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Reliability (DFR), and Design for Testability (DFT) input to our HQ R&D teams, ensuring that our products are optimized for efficient and reliable packaging and assembly.
  • • Maintaining meticulous documentation is paramount. You will initiate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Product Change Notifications (PCNs) as needed to manage product and process updates effectively. Developing and rigorously tracking specifications for packaging and assembly components, along with managing associated inventory, will be a core function.
  • • Regular audits of our contract manufacturers and suppliers are essential to ensure quality and adherence to our standards. You will conduct these audits, prepare comprehensive reports, and present findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders. Your ability to write clear, concise technical reports and present complex results effectively will be vital.
  • • A key leadership aspect of this role involves building and growing our Operations Process Team on a global scale. This includes mentoring junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring alignment across different geographical locations.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the manufacturing processes of cutting-edge Physical AI perception systems. You will be at the intersection of hardware, software, and advanced manufacturing, contributing directly to Lyte's success and the advancement of AI in the physical world.
