Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the day-to-day relationship with a portfolio of employer, broker, and health-plan clients who rely on SmithRx to manage their pharmacy benefits for tens of thousands of covered members.
- • Act as the primary point of contact from post-sale implementation through renewal, translating complex PBM concepts into clear, actionable guidance that helps clients hit their cost and clinical goals.
- • Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and monthly check-ins, presenting data-driven insights on drug-spend trends, formulary performance, prior-authorization outcomes, and member satisfaction scores.
- • Partner with internal Clinical, Data, and Product teams to design custom savings programs—such as specialty-drug carve-outs, international sourcing pilots, or value-based formulary designs—that directly reduce client spend by 15-40%.
- • Monitor real-time dashboards and proactively flag anomalies (e.g., sudden spikes in specialty-drug utilization or network leakage) so clients can take corrective action before costs spiral.
- • Manage escalations from members, HR teams, and brokers, coordinating with Member Services and Pharmacy Operations to resolve issues within SLA while documenting root causes for continuous improvement.
- • Translate client feedback into concise user-stories that guide Product and Engineering sprints, ensuring the roadmap reflects real-world pain points and market opportunities.
- • Build trusted-advisor status with benefits consultants and TPAs, equipping them with competitive intelligence, legislative updates, and ROI models that position SmithRx as the transparent, tech-forward alternative to legacy PBMs.
- • Own renewal forecasting and upsell identification: analyze claims data to quantify savings, model alternative plan designs, and craft renewal proposals that expand wallet share and extend contract terms.
- • Maintain meticulous CRM hygiene (Salesforce) so leadership has accurate visibility into pipeline risk, client health scores, and expansion opportunities.
- • Contribute to cross-functional “voice of customer” sessions that shape marketing collateral, white-papers, and webinar content, amplifying success stories that accelerate new-logo acquisition.
- • Travel up to 15% for on-site client meetings, broker summits, and industry conferences, representing SmithRx with polished presentation skills and deep subject-matter expertise.
- • Stay ahead of regulatory shifts (IRA drug-price negotiations, state PBM-transparency laws, FTC antitrust scrutiny) and brief clients on compliance implications and strategic responses.
- • Mentor junior team members and help refine playbooks, knowledge-base articles, and onboarding curricula that scale the Account Management function as SmithRx triples its client base over the next 24 months.
- • Champion a culture of radical transparency—internally and externally—by sharing both wins and setbacks openly, reinforcing the company’s core value of “doing right by the patient and the payer.”
🎯 Requirements
- • 2-5 years of client-facing experience in healthcare, pharmacy benefits, employee benefits consulting, or health-tech SaaS.
- • Demonstrated ability to interpret claims data, build Excel models, and translate numbers into compelling narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
- • Proven track record of managing multi-year client relationships with annual contract values exceeding $1M.
- • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to C-suite and benefits committees.
- • Nice-to-have: PBM, health-plan, or specialty-pharmacy domain knowledge; Salesforce or Gainsight power-user certification; familiarity with SQL or BI tools such as Tableau or Looker.
🏖️ Benefits
- • 100% remote-first culture with quarterly in-person team retreats in destinations like Napa, Austin, or Denver.
- • Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission on renewals and upsells, with OTE typically 20-30% above market.
- • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and 75% for dependents.
- • Flexible PTO policy (minimum 15 days encouraged) and a one-time $1,000 “Recharge Stipend” to fund your ideal vacation.
