📋 Description

  • Join Twilio Inc. as an Associate Application Engineer, Finance, a pivotal role focused on managing and resolving system-related issues within our comprehensive Finance systems landscape. This position offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the Record to Report (R2R) domain, specifically General Ledger (GL) and Fixed Assets, working closely with experienced team members. You will gain invaluable hands-on experience by shadowing senior colleagues, learning the intricacies of our financial systems, and providing essential daily support to our end-users. This role is designed for individuals eager to grow their expertise in Oracle ERP applications, contributing to both ongoing enhancements and significant project deliverables.
  • As an Associate Application Engineer, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. Your responsibilities will include interacting directly with end-users to understand their challenges, analyzing complex business problems, and leveraging Oracle technology to devise and implement effective resolutions. You will receive dedicated coaching from an experienced Oracle Lead for each specific track you work on, ensuring a structured learning and development path. Furthermore, you will be introduced to and actively participate in Agile ways of working, with a particular focus on the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) model for software delivery, operating within iterative cycles.
  • Key responsibilities encompass the design, development, and testing of platform and product extensions that fulfill specific functional requirements defined by our business teams. You will develop and implement cost-effective integrations, crucial for processes such as creating journals, invoking SaaS APIs, and generating essential reports for month-end closing activities. A critical aspect of your role will be to perform diligent checks and monitor vital processes within the Production instance, proactively identifying and rectifying any issues that arise to ensure system stability and operational continuity.
  • You will gain proficiency in utilizing developer tools such as FBDI (File-Based Data Import) and ADFDI (Application Development Framework Desktop Integration) for efficient data amendments. Additionally, you will be involved in configuring and developing payment integrations to seamlessly pull data from external systems, enhancing our financial workflows. You will support the Lead or Product Owner for your assigned track, assisting with issue resolution for support tickets and contributing to project deliverables, with the ultimate goal of becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Record to Report domain.
  • Your work will involve designing, documenting, configuring, delivering, and automating processes across the entire Record to Report cycle within various Oracle modules. This includes Oracle Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Intercompany, Fusion Tax, and integrations with external upstream and downstream systems like tax engines such as Avalara. You will collaborate closely with the Record to Report business teams to provide exceptional end-user support and customer service, ensuring the applications they rely on function optimally for daily operations.
  • You will develop a strong understanding of creating test scenarios within the Record to Report framework and gain experience using automated test tools. A core part of your learning will be translating intricate business problems into tangible technical solutions offered by the Oracle product suite. You will also contribute to the development and execution of system conversion and implementation strategies, gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle.
  • This role requires proficiency in process and solution engineering, with the ability to manage and deliver multiple cross-functional projects. You will learn to partner effectively with vendors, coordinating and driving complex projects to successful completion. Advanced verbal, written, and presentation skills are essential for creating and maintaining detailed documentation, including FAQs, troubleshooting guides, and best practices, which are vital for knowledge sharing and operational efficiency.
  • You will work in alignment with the SAFe delivery model, becoming comfortable with breaking down features into stories, participating in iteration planning, and executing development sprints. This includes leading cross-functional requirement sessions to elicit, document, and analyze business requirements, and subsequently creating functional specifications. A key aspect of this will be identifying unspoken or conflicting requirements and challenging the status quo to drive optimal solutions.
  • This is a remote position based in India, requiring flexibility to work across time zones, specifically supporting users in the U.S. or EMEA. You will be expected to work within the EMEA Shift (1 PM to 10 PM IST or 2 PM to 11 PM IST) to ensure adequate coverage. Occasional travel may be required for project or team in-person meetings, fostering stronger collaboration and relationship building.
