  • • As an Associate Creative Director, North America at KAYAK, you will be instrumental in shaping and amplifying our brand's visual narrative across the North American market. You will be a key player within the KAYAK Creative Team, tasked with bringing the KAYAK brand to life for millions of travelers and attracting new audiences through compelling visual storytelling and exceptional craft.
  • • This role requires a strategic thinker and a hands-on creative leader who can translate complex ideas into clear, impactful campaigns. You will report directly to the Senior Creative Director, collaborating closely to build innovative campaign platforms and oversee design execution across a diverse range of channels. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring our brand message resonates powerfully and consistently.
  • • You will be responsible for conceptualizing and directing multi-channel campaigns that span Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising, digital platforms, social media, film and video production, experiential marketing, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) initiatives, and web design. This broad scope demands a versatile creative who can adapt their vision to suit the unique demands of each medium.
  • • A core responsibility will be to produce polished, high-impact design work that not only reinforces KAYAK’s established visual identity but also actively elevates the overall consumer experience. This involves a keen eye for detail and a commitment to aesthetic excellence in every deliverable.
  • • You will leverage strong storytelling instincts and a deep understanding of brand building to guide creative development from initial concept through to final execution.   • • Partnering with the Senior Creative Director, you will play a vital role in shaping the overall creative direction, refining the brand's expression, and developing robust campaign platforms that serve as the foundation for our marketing efforts.
  • • Ensuring visual coherence and impeccable craft across all touch-points is paramount. This means maintaining a consistent brand voice and aesthetic, from the overarching strategic concepts to the smallest execution details, guaranteeing a seamless brand experience for the consumer.
  • • You will be tasked with evolving and maintaining KAYAK’s brand design systems, templates, and guidelines. This includes ensuring they are up-to-date, accessible, and effectively utilized by internal teams and external partners to uphold brand integrity.
  • • A significant aspect of this role involves providing day-to-day guidance, inspiration, and support to your direct reports. You will foster a collaborative and growth-oriented environment, ensuring high standards of work and nurturing the professional development of your team members.
  • • Close collaboration with writers, producers, strategists, and marketing partners is essential. You will work cross-functionally to bring integrated creative ideas to life, ensuring that all campaign elements work harmoniously towards shared objectives.
  • • You will translate strategic briefs into innovative creative ideas that not only meet defined business objectives but also effectively differentiate KAYAK in a competitive market.
  • • Confidently presenting concepts and their underlying rationale to senior cross-functional partners will be a regular part of your role. This requires clear communication, persuasive argumentation, and a strong understanding of business goals.
  • • Effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously is critical. This role demands the ability to balance hands-on creative work with the responsibilities of team leadership and project oversight.
  • • Utilizing performance data and user insights to continuously refine creative approaches will be key to optimizing campaign effectiveness and ensuring our work is data-informed and impactful.
  • • You will actively support experimentation across various digital formats, explore the potential of AI-driven creative tools, and investigate new storytelling methods to keep KAYAK at the forefront of creative innovation.
  • • This role is based in our Cambridge, MA office but requires a minimum of 3 days per week presence at our Miami, FL office, offering a dynamic work environment that bridges two key locations.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 8+ years of art or creative direction experience at a creative agency or fast-paced in-house brand studio, with a proven track record of developing integrated, multi-channel campaigns.
  • • A strong portfolio demonstrating integrated campaign experience, alongside exceptional conceptual thinking, craft, and measurable results.
  • • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma; demonstrable comfort and experience with AI-driven creative capabilities.
  • • Solid understanding of typography, composition, color theory, motion graphics, and fundamental digital design principles.
  • • Proven experience partnering effectively with production teams, directors, photographers, and other content creators.
  • • Experience mentoring or leading designers and copywriters, employing a collaborative and inclusive leadership approach.
  • • Demonstrated ability to present creative ideas and strategic rationale confidently to senior audiences and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • • Experience with brand systems management, including building, adapting, and organizing brand guidelines and creative assets.
