- • Own and evolve Zip’s end-to-end content strategy for the merchant audience, translating complex BNPL and payments topics into compelling narratives that position Zip as the definitive industry authority.
- • Build and manage a high-performing content engine that spans thought-leadership articles, white-papers, case studies, webinars, email nurtures, social copy, and sales-enablement assets—ensuring every piece ladders up to pipeline and revenue goals.
- • Partner daily with Demand Gen, Product Marketing, Sales, and Partnerships to identify content gaps, map assets to the buyer journey, and launch integrated campaigns that accelerate deal velocity and expand average contract value.
- • Establish and evangelize an editorial calendar that balances tent-pole industry moments (e.g., NRF, Money 20/20, holiday commerce spikes) with always-on evergreen content, maintaining a 90-day rolling roadmap visible to all stakeholders.
- • Define clear KPIs—organic traffic, MQLs, SALs, influenced revenue, share-of-voice—and build dashboards that give executives real-time visibility into content performance and ROI.
- • Lead, mentor, and scale a distributed team of writers, editors, freelancers, and agency partners; institute rigorous editorial standards, voice guidelines, and SEO best practices that ensure consistency and quality at global scale.
- • Spearhead original research and data storytelling initiatives (surveys, market studies, merchant benchmarks) that generate press coverage, backlink authority, and differentiated insights competitors cannot replicate.
- • Champion SEO and content distribution excellence: own keyword strategy, on-page optimization, technical audits, and syndication partnerships to drive sustained organic growth and SERP dominance for high-intent BNPL terms.
- • Collaborate with Design and Video teams to extend written content into multimedia formats—interactive tools, motion graphics, short-form video—maximizing engagement across LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, and emerging channels.
- • Serve as the public face of Zip content: represent the brand on podcasts, webinars, and industry panels, while ghost-writing executive bylines that elevate our leadership’s voice in fintech and retail media.
- • Continuously test and iterate: run A/B experiments on headlines, formats, CTAs, and distribution cadences; feed learnings back into the strategy to compound results quarter over quarter.
- • Forecast and manage a multimillion-dollar content budget, balancing internal resources, external vendors, and martech investments to deliver maximum efficiency and measurable business impact.
- • Champion diversity of thought and inclusive storytelling, ensuring our content reflects the global merchants and consumers Zip serves.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of B2B content marketing experience, with at least 3 years leading teams in high-growth SaaS, fintech, or e-commerce environments.
- • Proven track record of creating demand-generating content that has directly influenced seven-figure pipeline and revenue.
- • Deep fluency in SEO, editorial operations, and content analytics platforms (GA4, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Marketo, HubSpot, or similar).
- • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills—capable of translating technical payments concepts into clear, persuasive narratives for CFOs, Heads of E-commerce, and Retail Ops leaders.
- • Demonstrated success managing cross-functional stakeholders, agency partners, and distributed creative teams in a remote-first culture.
