- • The Associate General Counsel serves as a senior legal advisor responsible for leading complex legal matters and acting as the primary legal partner to a business unit or function, balancing independent execution with strategic guidance to enable business growth while managing risk.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include serving as the primary legal advisor to multiple business units and corporate functions, drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements (SaaS, vendor, technology, data use, IP, etc.), advising on data licensing, privacy, and real-world data initiatives, providing intellectual property guidance, and partnering cross-functionally with Product, Procurement, Security, Finance, Sales, and Compliance teams to align legal risk management with business objectives.

- • In this role, the Associate General Counsel will develop deep expertise in healthcare technology law, data governance, AI/ML compliance, and enterprise contracting while influencing strategic decisions across product, commercial, and operational functions. They will have the opportunity to shape legal processes, mentor junior team members, and contribute to ModMed’s mission of modernizing medicine through scalable, risk-aware legal support in a high-growth, innovative environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- • 7–10+ years of legal experience, including in-house experience
- • Experience supporting business functions in SaaS, healthcare technology, or highly regulated environments
- • Significant experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial and technology transactions
- • Experience advising on data licensing, privacy, intellectual property, and healthcare regulatory matters
- • Ability to independently manage complex legal matters with minimal oversight and provide practical, solutions-oriented advice
