- • Deel is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Legal Counsel I for its North America operations. This role is pivotal in supporting Deel's rapid growth and its mission to unlock global opportunity for every person, team, and business. As a fast-growing SaaS company transforming the future of work, Deel requires robust legal support to navigate complex international employment laws, contract negotiations, and corporate matters. You will be instrumental in ensuring Deel's operations are compliant, efficient, and aligned with its strategic business objectives.
- • In this role, you will be responsible for drafting and reviewing a variety of critical agreements, including employment contracts, commercial agreements, and corporate documentation. You will work with minimal guidance, demonstrating a strong understanding of legal principles and Deel's business needs. Your ability to provide accurate, relevant, and timely legal advice on employment law, contract negotiations, and corporate governance will be essential for the company's continued success.
- • A key aspect of your contribution will involve identifying potential legal risks and proactively developing effective solutions. You will analyze contract terms meticulously, providing clear recommendations for risk mitigation. This requires critical thinking and a collaborative approach, working closely with senior legal team members to address complex legal challenges and ensure Deel's interests are protected.
- • You will also play a role in optimizing our contract management processes. By identifying areas for improvement and suggesting enhancements, you will contribute to increased efficiency and streamlined operations. This proactive approach to process improvement is vital in a fast-paced, high-growth environment like Deel.
- • The Associate Legal Counsel I will be assigned specific projects with clear deadlines, and it will be your responsibility to ensure their timely and high-quality completion while adhering to all Service Level Agreements (SLAs). As you gain experience, you will begin to operate with increasing autonomy, demonstrating your capability to manage your workload effectively and escalate more complex issues to senior management when necessary.
- • Beyond day-to-day tasks, you will contribute to the strategic thinking within the legal team. This involves aligning legal work with overarching business objectives, ensuring that compliance efforts actively enable, rather than hinder, business growth. You will participate in discussions regarding process improvements and contribute to the development of legal strategies that support Deel's global expansion.
- • Furthermore, you will stay abreast of market trends in employment law and contract negotiations. This knowledge will enable you to provide informed insights during client conversations and contribute to Deel's position as a thought leader in the global work revolution. Your ability to assess these trends will be invaluable in shaping our legal approach.
- • Effective communication is paramount. You will be expected to clearly articulate progress, challenges, and proposed solutions to managers and stakeholders. Providing well-structured explanations of complex legal matters to non-legal team members will foster understanding and collaboration across departments. Engaging in two-way communication will be key to building strong working relationships and facilitating effective problem-solving.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the global work revolution. You will tackle complex challenges that have a tangible impact on millions of people's working lives. Deel's impressive momentum, backed by a significant valuation and substantial ARR, provides an environment where you can drive meaningful impact and build expertise that will position you as a sought-after leader in the transformation of global work.
- • You will be an integral part of a globally distributed team, contributing to a dynamic culture that drives continuous learning and innovation. Your work will directly support Deel's vision of breaking down borders and creating a more diverse and inclusive global economy. This is more than just a legal role; it's an opportunity to shape the future of work.
