  • • Are you a driven and ambitious individual ready to ignite new business opportunities and shape the future of API and AI connectivity? Kong Inc. is seeking a dynamic Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our high-performing outbound sales team, focusing on the vibrant Asia market.
  • • As an SDR at Kong, you will be the crucial first point of contact for top global brands and rapidly growing enterprises. Your mission is to spark interest, inspire adoption of our cutting-edge platform, and establish the foundational relationships that lead to lasting technological partnerships. This role is more than just prospecting; it's about becoming a trusted advisor and a strategic partner to potential clients.
  • • You will leverage a combination of in-depth research, advanced sales enablement tools, and a deep understanding of the API and AI landscape to develop sophisticated territory and account plans. Your ability to confidently engage with senior technology leaders, including CIOs, CTOs, and other key decision-makers, will be paramount. You’ll hone your skills in uncovering critical business and technical pain points, translating them into compelling value propositions that drive impactful positive outcomes for our clients.

  • • Your journey with Kong will be structured for success. In your first 30 days, you will immerse yourself in comprehensive onboarding with our Enablement Manager and Hiring Manager, gaining a solid understanding of the Kong product suite and its critical role in both the API and AI spaces. You'll also receive in-depth training on our essential sales tooling and be introduced to our broader ecosystem, including Sales, Marketing, and Partnerships teams. You'll integrate with our Asia-Pacific (APJ) SDR team, receiving dedicated 1-1 support from your Hiring Manager and an assigned Mentor. During this initial phase, there will be no quota assigned, allowing you to focus entirely on learning and integration.
  • • By the end of your second month (60 days), you will be closely aligned with your assigned Account Executive(s), having developed your initial territory and account plans. You'll participate in call-shadowing sessions with your mentor and other team members, engage in role-playing exercises with your Enablement Manager and Hiring Manager, and become intimately familiar with Kong’s pitch deck. You will craft your own compelling elevator pitch and begin actively prospecting, generating your first opportunities. You will also be working towards and delivering on your first ramping quota.
  • • Upon reaching the 90-day mark, you will possess a strong grasp of Kong’s sales processes and methodologies, having developed a repeatable and effective cadence of prospecting activities. You will feel comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and technology leaders, and you will be adept at leveraging AI tools to scale your outreach and effectiveness. You will have delivered on your second ramping quota and will be fully prepared to transition to the standard quota expectations.
  • • Key responsibilities in this role include collaborating closely with Account Executives to conceptualize and execute impactful outbound campaigns, from initial ideation through to the delivery of qualified meetings. You will also partner with the Marketing team to support and drive various campaigns, events, and roadshows, ensuring a cohesive go-to-market strategy.
  • • You will be expected to cultivate a deep and nuanced understanding of Kong’s product offerings and the intricacies of our sales process. Your primary function will involve engaging senior IT professionals and key decision-makers across various Asian markets through a multi-channel approach, including phone calls, video conferences, LinkedIn outreach, and email campaigns.
  • • Meticulous tracking of lead and prospect activity, your personal prospecting efforts, and the status of new and existing opportunities within Salesforce is essential. You will be responsible for qualifying prospects and leads to ensure they are a good fit before scheduling introductory meetings for the sales team.
  • • Furthermore, you will play a vital role in aiding the progression of early-stage opportunities, thereby contributing significantly to future pipeline growth. Consistently achieving and exceeding your monthly and quarterly opportunity targets will be a key performance indicator.

  • • This role requires a candidate who is based in Singapore and is comfortable with a hybrid working arrangement, spending at least two days per week in the office, aligning with our global standards. Fluency in Thai is essential for effectively serving the primary market of Thailand, and fluency in English is required to engage with other Asian markets.
