- • Serve as an Associate in the Operational & Technical Accounting Practice, supporting private equity-backed portfolio companies with complex accounting and financial advisory needs.
- • Conduct deep-dive assessments of clients’ current-state accounting processes, systems, and controls to identify root causes of inefficiencies and control gaps.
- • Recommend and implement improvements to financial close processes, including introducing materiality thresholds, close checklists, and standardized calendars to reduce closing timelines.
- • Assist in cash-to-US GAAP conversions for companies transitioning from cash-basis accounting, with focus on revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), and other key standards.
- • Prepare accurate financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
- • Project manage audit timelines and coordinate with external auditors during engagements to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- • Design unified finance functions for companies consolidating multiple acquired businesses, including aligning roles, responsibilities, and reporting structures.
- • Draft standardized accounting policies and procedures that ensure consistency across consolidated entities.
- • Design and implement a standardized chart of accounts for consolidated financial reporting.
- • Select, implement, and champion ERP systems to meet the needs of combined businesses post-acquisition.
- • Conduct purchase accounting analyses and establish US GAAP-compliant opening balance sheets for each acquisition transaction.
- • Consolidate financial reporting from disparate legacy systems into a single source of truth, adjusting for deviations in accounting policies and procedures.
- • Advise technology companies transitioning from subscription-based models to SaaS models, addressing revenue recognition implications and revising invoicing processes.
- • Challenge existing revenue forecasts and cost-driver assumptions to align with new business models and accounting standards.
- • Work within lean, cross-functional teams on client engagements that require both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
- • Travel to client sites as needed to support on-site assessments, implementation, and stakeholder alignment.
- • Communicate complex accounting issues and solutions clearly to clients and senior team members, escalating risks and dependencies as necessary.
- • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
- • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of US GAAP standards and emerging accounting guidance relevant to private equity portfolio companies.
- • Balance project management responsibilities with direct execution of technical accounting tasks across multiple concurrent workstreams.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 3 years of experience in financial accounting or operations at a top-tier public accounting firm, financial advisory firm, or private company
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- • Strong and up-to-date knowledge of US GAAP, including technical expertise in ASC 606 (revenue recognition), ASC 842 (lease accounting), and purchase accounting
- • Experience in technical accounting advisory, audit readiness, and functional accounting/controllership support
- • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- • Strong client service mindset and communication skills
