- • You will actively participate in deepening your expertise across several critical areas: Credit analysis and structuring, effective Relationship Management, diligent Portfolio Management, and strategic Sales Management. This hands-on experience will equip you with a robust understanding of the financial services landscape and client needs.
- • A key responsibility involves collaborating closely with Relationship Managers and Underwriters. You will be an integral part of the deal team, identifying and responding to client requirements. This includes leading or participating in due diligence meetings to gain an in-depth understanding of clients' businesses, their management teams, and the specific industry sectors in which they operate.
- • You will assist Relationship Managers in the creation of compelling proposals and persuasive pitch materials tailored for both prospects and existing clients, honing your ability to articulate value propositions effectively.
- • Reviewing loan requests is a crucial aspect of the role. You will be responsible for determining and collecting all necessary documentation for loan approval and accurately uploading required financial information into the loan approval process, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- • Working alongside RMs and underwriters, you will prepare essential pre-flight materials for new deals, such as Deal Proposal PDFs and Excel spreadsheets, with a strong emphasis on the accuracy of loan request details.
- • You will actively participate in commercial loan requests, undertaking tasks such as completing Return on Equity (ROE) analysis and meticulously collecting and reviewing financial statement spreads, contributing to sound financial assessments.
- • Your involvement in credit processes extends to resolving portfolio activities and issues, ensuring the maintenance of sound asset quality. This includes participating in underwriting, structuring, and ongoing portfolio management activities.

- • Participate in annual portfolio data integrity reviews to verify that systems of record, such as Salesforce, nCino, CLS, and LIQ, accurately reflect risk ratings, loan booking data, and all other pertinent borrower information.
- • Collaborate with bank examiners and internal credit reviewers to validate credit quality and uphold the integrity of the credit process, ensuring compliance and best practices.
- • Engage in a proactive approach to the ongoing management of the portfolio. This involves the timely collection of financial statements, ensuring loans and lines of credit are renewed promptly, and communicating any changes in client structure or financial wherewithal to risk partners. You will also manage and remediate internal risk findings effectively.
- • Participate in Know Your Customer (KYC) activities, including RSQ, Beneficial Ownership verification, and Fraud Prevention initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance and client security.
- • Review legal documentation to confirm that terms are appropriate and consistent with the approved credit, ensuring legal and contractual alignment.
- • Ensure that all required waivers, amendments, and extensions receive proper approvals and are filed appropriately, maintaining organized and compliant records.
- • Work with support partners to perform necessary system maintenance, ensuring accurate portfolio assignments and data integrity.
- • Participate in the early identification and proactive management of deteriorating credits and other challenging situations within the portfolio, mitigating potential risks.
- • You will gain experience in managing client relationships within your assigned portfolio, potentially serving as a primary point of contact for certain activities, handling loan requests, documentation updates, and other portfolio management tasks.
- • Develop a foundational understanding of business development strategies by cultivating a clear and holistic view of client and prospect businesses and industries, analyzing relevant data and market trends.
- • Gain exposure to educating clients on KeyBank's capabilities and expertise in key product areas, such as cash management, derivatives, and equipment finance.
- • Participate in prospecting efforts, including identification, qualification, and client outreach, and begin developing an active Center of Influence (COI) referral network.
