  • • Design, implement, and maintain global enterprise audiovisual (AV) and video conferencing infrastructure with a focus on five 9s availability, reliability, and consistent user experience across all OpenAI offices.
  • • Develop and own global conference room AV standards, including room archetypes, approved hardware stacks, control patterns, network requirements, and supportability expectations for over 300 AV spaces.
  • • Produce and maintain standardized AV design packages, technical drawings, build documentation, and revision cycles using CAD tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, or Visio.
  • • Establish scalable systems and processes for the full AV technology lifecycle: evaluation, standardization, deployment, support, refresh, and retirement of AV equipment.
  • • Define technical patterns for AV monitoring, alerting, automation, and operational handoff to enable scalable global support and continuous improvement of AV systems.
  • • Lead technical reviews for new global office buildouts to ensure alignment with OpenAI’s global AV architecture and user experience goals.
  • • Oversee AV control code and programming patterns, transitioning from project-specific implementations to a unified, first-party global standard deployed consistently across all locations.
  • • Define commissioning, QA, and operational handoff requirements for all conference rooms and AV spaces to ensure seamless deployment and user adoption.
  • • Develop and manage integrations between AV systems and core IT services including monitoring platforms, asset management systems, ticketing systems, calendar integrations, and support workflows.
  • • Partner with ITAV Events, ITAV Upkeep, Network Engineering, Real Estate, Design and Construction, and Security teams to ensure AV solutions meet business, operational, and technical requirements.
  • • Own lifecycle management of AV/VC technology including vendor roadmaps, firmware strategy, end-of-life planning, approved substitutions, and global refresh schedules.
  • • Maintain deep expertise in AV/VC industry trends, emerging technologies, enterprise platform changes, and best practices for deploying AV at global scale.
  • • Implement and troubleshoot enterprise-grade AV systems using Google Meet, Logitech, QSYS, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, NDI, Dante, ST2110, and other industry-standard platforms.
  • • Design and deploy AV over IP solutions (QLAN, ST 2110, Dante, NDI) securely within corporate network environments with proper multicast routing, QoS, and IGMP configurations.
  • • Develop RFPs for AV integration vendors and manage the end-to-end bid, build, and deployment process for global AV projects.
  • • Implement and support wayfinding and conference room booking hardware and software solutions to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
  • • Write and maintain AV scripting (Lua, AppScript, Python) to automate control systems and improve system responsiveness and reliability.
  • • Ensure compliance with IT ticketing systems and maintain defined SLAs for AV support and incident resolution.
  • • Stay current with advancements in production AV equipment including Vizrt, AnalogWay, Yamaha, Panasonic, Ross, and MADI for event and broadcast-grade spaces.
  • • Maintain expertise in MCP integration and cloud hosting for highly available AV services such as monitoring, alerting, and distributed AV transport.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 8+ years experience in design, installation, and troubleshooting of enterprise AV systems with direct global-scale implementation of Google Meet, Logitech, and QSYS hardware
  • • Advanced QSYS programming experience
  • • Proven experience managing global AV deployments of over 300 conference rooms
  • • Experience with enterprise networking technologies including multicast routing, switch configuration, QoS, and IGMP
  • • Demonstrable CAD (Revit, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Visio) drawing package production experience
  • • Expertise in video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Meet, Teams)
